I’ve read a lot of self-help books, but I wish I had read this one first. I’m more motivated to put into practice not only all the principles described within this book, but ALL the other steps and ideas from other books.

Historia
The State of Jones is a true story about the South during the Civil War, the real South. Not the South that has been mythologized in novels and movies, but an authentic, hardscrabble place where poor men were forced to fight a rich man's war for slavery and cotton. In Jones County, Mississippi, a farmer named Newton Knight led his neighbors, white and black alike, in an insurrection against the Confederacy at the height of the Civil War.

Great story of an in-depth look into the mind of the white man’s South before, during and even 100 years after the Civil War. If Newton Knight and his group of Southerners were the only sensible ones in the South, it’s no wonder why it has taken the South so long to rid themselves of racial prejudice.

Historia
The lectures herewith presented have been prepared in accordance with the request and appointment of the First Presidency of the Church. The greater number of the addresses were delivered before the Theology Class of the Church University; and, after the close of the class sessions, the lectures were continued before other Church organizations engaged in the study of theology. To meet the desire expressed by the Church authorities - that the lectures be published for use in the various educational institutions of the Church - the matter has been revised, and is now presented in this form.

Great book, but narrator is terrible
Revisado: 06-14-16
I have read this book and thought it was great. I thought it would be equally as great listening to it while I commuted, but I could stand listening to the narrator. He just breezes through it with hardly any inflection or pause. Terrible buy.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Great mix of history and inspiration
Revisado: 06-14-16
As a sports fan and having a love for historical events, I didn't know what to expect with this book since my only connection with rowing is watching the Olympic teams compete when I was a kid. I got this book because I love Edward Hermann as a narrator, but I got so into this book. Wonderfully narrated, of course, but chalk full of history. At times, historical moments were included that didn't have much to do with the row crew, but they were interesting nonetheless. All in all I was inspired throughout by the life of Joe Rantz and the other "boys in the boat," even bringing me to tears of joy. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
