Historia
As the dreary, bitter weather of late fall descends on Minneapolis, Detective Nikki Liska is restless. After moving to the cold case squad in order to spend more time with her sons, she misses the rush of pulling an all-nighter, the sense of urgency of hunting a murderer on the loose. Most of all she misses her old partner, Sam Kovac. Sam is having an even harder time adjusting to Nikki's absence, saddled with a green new partner younger than pieces of Sam's wardrobe.

Great Tami Hoag story!
Revisado: 07-28-19
It's been awhile since I've listen to one of her books and certainly was not disappointed. Enjoyed Kristen Potter's narration as well. Story-line is good and I kind of figured out who the killer but wasn't sure completely - however it still is a great listen. Enjoyed the characters and their development - although I wanted more on the killer and his back story - which would have come at the end - see below.
My only critique - and this is just a personal one, at the very end, i wanted a epilogue. There were several characters i wanted to find out what happened to them - some were addressed very quickly and short and some none at all (young dennis and the killer's backstory) - just .my personal preference.
I listened to this up and back on a long driving trip - kept my attention the whole way - i think you will enjoy!

Historia
There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”. When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

Good Entertaining Book... but.....
Revisado: 05-30-19
I really didn't think i would get thru this book due to the narration... this guy was horrible - his character voices were so bad - it almost made me stop listening to it. But the more i listened, i have to say by the end of the book i didn't notice, but he is difficult to get past.
Warning - graphic sex scenes - only a few - wish she would have gone into as much detail regarding some of the crimes and what the killer actually did to some of victims and what was actually done to him - leads you down the path - but no details. Kind of two stories in one - two story lines that get intertwined - which was interesting.
it is a good story - entertaining... not sure if i would read anymore in the series though.

Great Crime drama!
Revisado: 01-22-19
I'm picky about my crime dramas. I like them gritty and whereas this was as gritty as I like it certainly kept my interest during my 12 hour drive. It''s got some sex scenes it..lol...which surprised me..and was like dammmmnnn :) Enjoyable listen.

With her windblown peroxide mane, seductive scarlet lips, and flirtatious curves, she epitomized every man's fantasy. I should have known better.... lol
Revisado: 08-24-18
Yes, I knew this book was going to be about sex, drugs and rock and roll.... but what I didn't know is that is was a poorly told story made even worse by Bobbie Brown reading it herself - and yes, I ignored others who said she was horrible.
I honestly thought this would be a fun, kooky book - and instead was sadly disappointed.
I won't go into my personal opinion of Ms. Brown as I do not want to judge - I'm sure you all can judge for yourself.

Don't get political...
Revisado: 06-25-18
i loved all of the books in this series - however, I was so disappointed in Sokoloff getting political in her narrative in this book 5. It started in book 4 and I was hoping that it wouldn't expand in book 5 but it did. It doesn't matter what your political views are - and I respect all views even if I may disagree - but if I wanted to read a book with political undertones, then I would have select just that.
Unless she is continuing with a book 6 - the book left ALOT of loose ends.

Entertaining
Revisado: 02-26-18
Any additional comments?
it was entertaining... I usually like my crime dramas a little grittier and the conclusion of the whole thing kind of came crashing down at the end. I would have liked a little back story on why the killer/kidnapper did what he did... but that's just me - it you want an easy to follow story then this does just fine. I'd like the narrator, there were alot of characters, but again, easy to follow.
