Born in Leipzig, Germany, into a Jewish family, Eddie Jaku was a teenager when his world was turned upside-down. On November 9, 1938, during the terrifying violence of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, Eddie was beaten by SS thugs, arrested, and sent to a concentration camp with thousands of other Jews across Germany. Every day of the next seven years of his life, Eddie faced unimaginable horrors in Buchenwald, Auschwitz, and finally on a forced death march during the Third Reich’s final days.

Eddie, a determined survivor with gifts of love along your arduous journey to renew your spirit and strength. I'm so overwhelmed by your life's demanding and ruthless experience. I'll remember you and other survivors when I feel pity for myself. I'll remember your moral standards and kindnesses in spite of the hardships you were suffering through. I'll treasure your constant bravery in speaking out or escape events in spite of the enemies flagrant abuse of the innocent instead of punishing the abuser. Thank you for seeing the beauty in life wherever you recognized it. Thank you for sharing your life with us who have never known such cruelty. God Bless & Keep you and your loved ones with extraordinary happiness in simple ways. Isaiah 53 is for you.

For me, never have I seen this much reality past an individual's visual presence, superficiality, etc, I have some work to do on me. Will Smith did ask the question: "Who Are You." You have answered the question loved one.
