Historia
A nightmarish danger threatens from the other side of reality. . . . Armed with only a frying pan and her common sense, young witch-to-be Tiffany Aching must defend her home against the monsters of Fairyland. Luckily she has some very unusual help: the local Nac Mac Feegle—aka the Wee Free Men—a clan of fierce, sheep-stealing, sword-wielding, six-inch-high blue men.

Great version
Revisado: 03-09-25
I loves this version, good quality voices and balanced audio. The foot notes are annoying tho

Historia
In a sleepy village in the Shire, a young hobbit is entrusted with an immense task. He must make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ruling Ring of Power - the only thing that prevents the Dark Lord Sauron’s evil dominion. Thus begins J. R. R. Tolkien’s classic tale of adventure, which continues in The Two Towers and The Return of the King.

misguided narration
Revisado: 01-27-25
Perhaps thought of as a way to enhance the drama, the narration varies wildly in intensity and audio levels. Sadly this only makes the listening experience worse, exponentially so if you prefer listening with headphones or similar. Personally for me at least, the song interpretation is perhaps the worst culprit, screamingly loud and with random musicality. I would much prefer a less involved reading.

Packed full of fun and adventure with Winnie-the-Pooh and all his friends in the Hundred Acre Forest. This is a wonderful dramatisation of Winnie-the-Pooh by David Benedictus with music composed, directed and played by John Gould.

Classic story but insufferable voice acting
Revisado: 01-19-25
The voices are not all horrible, but enough of them are to make it not worth a listen

Historia
The Earth teems with sights and textures, sounds and vibrations, smells and tastes, electric and magnetic fields. But every kind of animal, including humans, is enclosed within its own unique sensory bubble, perceiving but a tiny sliver of our immense world. In An Immense World, Ed Yong coaxes us beyond the confines of our own senses, allowing us to perceive the skeins of scent, waves of electromagnetism, and pulses of pressure that surround us.

Super interesting facts veiled by poor writing
Revisado: 07-13-22
Super interesting book, sadly suffering from poor penmanship. The audio performance is equally poor. Still, I love the facts enough to see past these flaws, at least some of the time.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Rather dull and one-dimentional
Revisado: 07-03-18
Being stranded on Mars, it seems, is just as upsetting as misplacing your car keys
