Really excited to see where this story goes. Narrators are excellent. If you want a Pokémon-like world with an actually good story, this is for you.

Historia
The fog of war clouds everything. Enemies lurk in the shadows, within the very fleet sworn to protect United Earth. Conspiracies and murder abound, and in the background.... The stalled alien invasion lurks. The Golgothic ship has burrowed deep into the core of Saturn's moon Titan, whose mass slowly but inexorably increases. The Dolmasi, once allies of United Earth in the Second Swarm War, now attack us, unhinged and without reason. And all the while, Admiral Shelby Proctor works to answer the most urgent questions of all.

Jumped the Shark
Revisado: 01-03-19
The first 3 books were fantastic. The fourth struggled to justify itself, and this one finally has convinced me to abandon the series. The surgery seems to think that everything needs to one up itself. The enemies need to be bigger. The problems need to be more desperate. The solutions come out of nowhere, and are fantastical, such as dreams and predictions of the future. The conflict from within needs to be more crippling, to the point where the characters seem like they can't be real people, because they are that stupid.
Things have just gotten out of the authors control, and it's just not interesting anymore.

Historia
“I have sensed a disturbance in the Force.” Ominous words under any circumstances, but all the more so when uttered by Emperor Palpatine. On Batuu, at the edges of the Unknown Regions, a threat to the Empire is taking root - its existence little more than a glimmer, its consequences as yet unknowable. But it is troubling enough to the Imperial leader to warrant investigation by his most powerful agents: ruthless enforcer Lord Darth Vader and brilliant strategist Grand Admiral Thrawn.

As a huge fan of Thrawn books, I was dissapointed
Revisado: 10-11-18
Story just didn't interest me. Flips back and forth between Vader and Anakin, doing nearly the same thing on the same planet with Thrawn, and none of which where that high stakes. There were no major "Thrawn moments" where he shows just how truly clever he is. Neither Vader, Padmé, nor Anakin were interesting perspectives either. By the way, how do you make Vader an uninteresting character?! To top it all off, the characters we got to know in the first of the new Thrawn books were all gone. Overall, the story fell flat for me.
As for the narration and sound effects, there were mostly good, but several times to adopted voice was near unintelligible in an effort to sound alien, and several times the sound effects and such were drowning out the narration. Both should never really happen.

Historia
On the edge of the galaxy, a diplomatic mission to an alien planet takes a turn when the Legionnaires, an elite special fighting force, find themselves ambushed and stranded behind enemy lines. They struggle to survive under siege, waiting on a rescue that might never come. In the seedy starport of Ackabar, a young girl searches the crime-ridden gutters to avenge her father's murder; not far away, a double-dealing legionniare-turned-smuggler hunts an epic payday; and somewhere along the outer galaxy, a mysterious bounty hunter lies in wait.

Great opening, dull closing
Revisado: 05-17-18
First part was great. Then they did a "10 years later" and I completely lost interest and investment in the story.
