Superb
Revisado: 12-14-15
This is an incredibly well narrated and performed version of the Jungle Book. The story has been abridged just to the right amount and the production is just top notch. Highly recommended.

Historia
This is the first volume in a bold new series that tells the stories of all peoples, connecting historical events from Europe to the Middle East to the far coast of China, while still giving weight to the characteristics of each country. Susan Wise Bauer provides both sweeping scope and vivid attention to the individual lives that give flesh to abstract assertions about human history. This narrative history employs the methods of "history from beneath" - literature, epic traditions, private letters, and accounts - to connect kings and leaders with the lives of those they ruled.

Revisado: 12-03-15
This is an incredible review of the history of the ancient world. Beautifully written so as not to appear boring or complicated and equally well narrated, this is a must have.
Susan Wise Bauer is somehow able to remove the jargon and present history in a perfectly readable form.
John Lee is amazing as usual.

Historia
Alice begins her fantastic journey by following an unprecedented White Rabbit with a pocket watch. While in the topsy turvy world of Wonderland, Alice takes advice from a caterpillar and attends a mad tea party. She meets the Mock Turtle and the Gryphon, and participates in a ludicrous courtroom scene. Each character has its own charming voice, as B. J. Harrison delivers one of his most whimsical performances.

Lewis Carroll was English. This just sounds wrong.
Revisado: 10-22-15
I'm not saying every book by an English author should be read by an British, but this is a rare exception. Harrison just sounds all kinds of "wrong". If you have the kindle book, you should be able to get this for less than a dollar, which is why its completely worth it. If however you want a more memorable Alice in Wonderland rendition, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Wodehouse and Jarvis: The perfect combination
Revisado: 10-22-15
You simply cannot go wrong with Wodehouse and a narrator like Martin Jarvis. I would go ahead and say that Jarvis is the definitive narrator for Wodehouse. Piccadilly Jim is a great example of this. Brimming with wit and narrated with equal aplomb, this is a marvellous audiobook. A true must-have.

Historia
If only I could remain young while the picture grows old. For that I’d give anything.... When Dorian Gray, a handsome young man about town, makes this wish, he can hardly guess that it will mark the beginning of a life of hedonism and debauchery. Soon enough his webs of deception and deceit catch innocent victims, some of them his closest friends, and the only evidence of his misdeeds is a long-forgotten portrait in his attic.

Utterly beautiful. Extraordinary.
Revisado: 10-14-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Picture of Dorian Gray to be better than the print version?
Of course not. The picture of Dorian Gray is one of the masterpieces of English literature. No narrator can do justice to the beauty of the prose.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lord Henry Wotton. You can memorise everything he says and include it in any speech that you have an opportunity to give. But Dorian Gray was the best performed.
Which scene was your favorite?
A critical scene which would entirely spoil the story for people who haven't read the book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Be careful what you wish for
Any additional comments?
There's a reason why I didn't get the unabridged version of the audiobook. Actually I did buy one initially after selecting the best sounding sample and was so disappointed with the narration that I had to return it. The Picture of Dorian Gray cannot be narrated "as-is". The prose is way too beautiful for any narrator to do justice to. Instead the dramatised version captures the mood, the thrill and the dark tones of the book perfectly. The actors have done a remarkable job in exploiting the essence of the plot. The background sounds and music make the story come alive. Incredibly well produced and perfectly performed, The Picture of Dorian Gray is quite simply, amazing. I have now developed a new respect for dramatised versions of novels. This dramatised version is a must have.

Listen to hilarious unabridged stories starring the ever-popular Jeeves and Wooster from the master of great British comedy: P. G. Wodehouse. Stories featured: "Jeeves Takes Charge", "Jeeves and The Unbidden Guest", "The Artistic Career of Corky", "The Aunt and the Sluggard", "Clustering Round Young Bingo", "Jeeves and the Hard-boiled Egg", and "The Rummy Affair of Old Biffy".

Take a bow, Mr. Jarvis, take a bow!
Revisado: 06-04-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. Let's face it, the only reason why you'd get this audiobook would be because of the narration. And boy does Mr. Jarvis nail the narration! I would rate this as highly as Fry and Laurie's depiction of Jeeves and Wooster.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Let me say Wooster for a change. Jeeves gets too much love anyway.
What about Martin Jarvis’s performance did you like?
Martin Jarvis is amazing. And yes, even though that is a cliched word, I really don't think anything else can describe how absolutely perfect his narration is.
Any additional comments?
Jarvis does justice to the comic genius of Wodehouse. It's as if Wodehouse was narrating this!

Excellent narration!
Revisado: 06-04-15
What made the experience of listening to Treasure Island the most enjoyable?
It's a classic! Also, this is the quintessential "boys' adventure". Many years after I read it in school, Treasure Island hasn't aged one bit.
What does Jasper Britton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Britton is an amazing narrator for Treasure Island. He somehow manages to create unique voices for each of the characters, which is quite amazing.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Nothing in particular. Even thoughI know the book almost by heart, listening to it is another experience altogether.
Any additional comments?
This is a great book to have in your library. If you're like me and enjoy classic literature, this should be your cup of tea.
