WARNING Racist Triggering

"Tall, WHITE, with wavy blond hair and grey eyes..." Although I was looking for something light, this story started a bit boring for me; like cotton candy, sweet with no substance. Yet in the first section, when I heard that line, it totally lost me.

I have never read a book where the ethnicity of a character was so explicitly stated as the main feature of his attractiveness!

I reversed 4 times to make sure I heard correctly. Sure, ethnicity is typically implied with cover photos, etc. Yet, hearing that description made me think I was reading a book written by a race-focused author FOR race-focused readers.

Although, the book was free --now I know why!-- I knew I'd never get past the taste of bile in my mouth if I continued. I will also stay clear of this author in the future!

WoW ! Supernatural + Intrigue + Sizzle

When I read a description that included all my hot buttons, I had to dive in to my first book written by this author. I was not disappointed! Never have I read a mystery that is so well blended with the psychology of relationships, a diversity of supernatural beings (some totally new to me), and steamy hot erotica that delivers on its own level! Chloe Adler really knows how to spin a tale that is smart, sexy, and leaves you wanting more. I just downloaded Book 2 and plan to follow this series to all the possible places it can take me!!

SUCKER PUNCH

The story was engaging enough to get me through the first book, even with the increasingly annoying odd cadence the male narrator used for some of the characters. However, very soon you begin to feel stupid continuing with the series and angry with yourself for getting sucked into a literary rip-off. There is no reason -except greed- that these three 5 to 6 hr books should not have been one! We're all adults, we handle 16 to 18-hr books all; the time!!

Kamau Who? Now I'm a Fan

As an immigrant coming from two generations of multi-ethnic marriages --my mother's and my own-- this story resonated on several levels for me; I loved it! I wasn't familiar with W. Kamau Bell before, now I'm a fan. I'm looking forward to catching up on his brilliant style and humor.

True Bollywood Rom-Com With Culture Lesson

In addition to the true to Bollywood rom-com storyline, I thoroughly enjoyed how this book introduces the various elements of Indian culture as the main characters learn about these differences themselves; "Isn't it amazing how we are both from India, but our Indias are so different?" My only critique is that the narrator could have used a more masculine voice for the male characters; sometimes it was difficult to discern the difference.

WoW ! A Slow Burn Riveting Story

It's a bit amazing that the author packed so many twists turns into 4h 28m. Actually less time than that since it's the last half that had exclamations bursting from me repeatedly. Yes, the technology glitch is questionable, but it didn't spoil the story that much for me. Very good listen in every way, performance and story.

Predictable, Until The Twist

This was a quick listen and engaging. Even when you think you know; the ending still brought some suspense. The narrator could do better with the male voice, but overall she did a good job.

I just finished this book and absolutely LOVE IT ! I'm glad it's only 2 hrs, I won't feel guilty taking the time to listen again. I rarely listen twice to a book. Thanks to both author and narrator for an excellent production ! BRAVO

This production is more like an audio play than a book reading; I found it entirely enjoyable. Amusing at the start with comic moments, then there is an abrupt switch in intensity that builds to a poignant end.

You Only THINK You Know Jane Fonda

Hers is an inspiring story of the evolution of person --not just a woman-- from 'actress' (in the time that women were not equal actors) to activist to fitness entrepreneur to film producer to feminist and philanthropist. Ms. Fonda's journey will lift and strengthen readers on their own path forward... if they are open to bringing positive change to their lives.
