Historia
This is a captivating historical mystery, infused with romance, that links the lives of three women across a century - two deep in the past, one in the present - to the doomed passenger liner, RMS Lusitania.... Her finances are in dire straits, and best-selling author Sarah Blake is struggling to find a big idea for her next book. Desperate, she breaks the one promise she made to her mother and opens an old chest that belonged to her great-grandfather, who died when the RMS Lusitania was sunk by a German U-boat in 1915. What she discovers there could change history.

It was ok. Predictable story some historical basis but I have heard this story before just a different ship and different names.

Almost didn’t listen due to slow narration but liked the story
Revisado: 01-03-22
Even with sped up narration the pauses after (and even before) the end of the sentences was horribly annoying. Like 4 double spaces. And the sweetly tone also was frustrating which lasted through the whole thing. I wanted to hear the story though and glad I did. Loved the plant and nature references and the characters were true and kind. Hopefully her other books have a different reader as I would love to see what else this author has.

Historia
Shelby works as a dog walker in northern California, and she’s just finished up her bi-weekly trip to the park with a husky named Pluto. When she brings him back to his house, she finds his owner - Todd Burke, a well-known local businessman and founder of an organic supplements company - lying on the bathroom floor, dead. A detective arrives on the scene. As she interviews Shelby, the body is inspected by a medical examiner, and more cops search Todd’s home, it becomes clear that the victim’s life was less picture-perfect than his clean-cut persona might lead you to believe.

Interesting story with a dumb ending
Revisado: 11-18-21
Great idea to appeal to dog lovers. Kept my interest with well developed characters and good mystery. But the end was so bad that it ruined the whole thing for me. I felt like even for a short story, the writer was just done and ended it so typical—kill everyone off and make the protagonist crazy.

Please stop the canned music
Revisado: 06-07-21
Not one of his best. I have read the book before but wanted an audio book. The music is awful and distracting! No need for the music. Almost deleted the book when the bad music stopped, then returned in the end making for a ruined ending for me. I don’t need music for suspense when the writing is good like Sparks. Male narration of female voices is awkward. Let me know when my audio book has music and I will get a different book or version.
