I initially purchased this audio book because RC Bray is the narrator and I enjoy his style. Given that, I was pretty quickly pulled into the story and characters who both endeared themselves and were quickly cast aside to speed the storyline to its crescendo and final landing place; it’s not a cliffhanger, but there could easily be a sequel.

Totally worth the listen and could easily see this made into a hit SciFi / horror movie.

Three dimensional characters!

Kyla Stone creates three dimensional characters, drawing the listener into the story because you care how things play out. The main characters histories tend to be deep and dark, a theme in both of her series that I’ve listened to. It can seem a bit over the top, but there’s no denying that it adds to the complexity of her characters.

For the narration, I can honestly say that I’m one of the most picky listeners I know. Seriously, I don’t care how amazing the authors writing or how compelling the story, if I don’t like the narrator I’m not going to listen. So happy that Stacey Glemboski is the narrator. She holds a tone and tempo that I enjoy and manages to distinguish the characters by slight inflection alone. It’s an art form and she’s an accomplished artist. Personally, I’m doing what I did with one of my other favorite narrator’s, RC Bray, and looking at the audio books she’s narrated and giving them a try.

If you enjoy this genre, this book and series are worth the listen.

Really enjoyed book 2 of the 3 part series. The author lays a good foundation for enjoyable characters and a compelling storyline. The narrator has a great tone and cadence; a voice that draws the listener into the story. Looking forward to starting book 3!

Overall a very fun story. I’d recommend it to folks who enjoy alien envisions, turned into off-world adventures, all with the goal of rescuing humanity…in complete and utter smart-a** fashion.

The only thing I’d tell my friends is to hang through the first couple chapters of (to me) somewhat off-putting narration. As the story moves along you’ll understand how perfect the narrator is…maybe even come to appreciate him.

That said, the story has a lot of military jargon, which is often explained in a humorous way. Perfect addition to the fun, since the story is told as an accounting by Army soldier “Joe”, the stories humble hero.

Enjoyed the story enough that I’m heading over to get book two… Because I have to know how the adventures of Joe and Skippy turn out.

Great short story, with some familiar voices, for any GoT fans out there.

Normally I’d find enhancement noises annoying, but the ones in this audiobook were balanced well enough to enhance the listening experience.

Hopefully we’ll get a second installment; the tale is too fun to end where it did.

This course on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the best I've listened to. The writing was clear and precise, without unnecessary filler or fluff. The reading of it was clear and easy on the ears; even at 1.5x's speed.

The accompanying PDF is fantastic for reviewing the material and focusing on specific exercises. Thanks for that!

Highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Jill Heinerth’s book “Into the Planet” is absolutely gripping. Expertly read by the author, Jill pulls the reader in, bringing us along with her on her pioneering explorations and sometimes frightening adventures.

For those of us who dive, hearing Jill’s descriptions of the wondrous surroundings and feelings of excitement, awe, determination, partnership, love, and community speaks to our very essence. For those loved ones, who may not always understand why we do what we do, but who still wish us well and support us in our adventures, Jill offers an insight into why living our authentic adventurous lives are just as much part of us as the love we have for them.

Also, for divers; besides being an amazing explorer, Jill has an absolutely stellar reputation as a teacher/instructor. I’ve not (yet?) had the pleasure of learning from her in person but her storytelling yields so much information, especially around diving and dive psychology, that I’ll be listening to the audio again (and again) and gleaming what I can from her wisdom.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

While I enjoyed the stories and insights, I would not recommend the audio version of the book to a friend. Ebook or physical, yes...audio NO. The narrator was bland; he sounded like Paul Harvey's "...And that is the rest of the story.", using the same monotone through the entire read. Not painful to listen to, just not pleasant to my ears. Could just be me, but I wish that I would have tried a sample before I bought it.

How could the performance have been better?

I did enjoy the books narrated by the author himself.

A well narrated story that pulls you in.

After reading mostly glowing reviews from Audible and Amazon I decided to purchase ???The Help???. The story and audible presentation did not disappoint. Right from the beginning the author, with the help of very skilled narrators, pulls you into the lives of black domestics and their white employers in 1960???s Mississippi.

The story is told by women and because of the nature of the content has a distinctly feminine focus and feel throughout. The gentle sweetness of the story is woven in and through the lives in this small town and the humor is undeniable; from the grotesque, when a main character makes a special ???pie??? for a particularly nasty employer, to the more subtle as one particular privileged southern white girl steps out of what???s expected of her and develops friendships with people treated as less than second class human beings.

If you like great books and lively narration you???ll want this audio book in your library.

I picked the book because of the narrator and an interesting sounding storyline; this book did not disappoint. The narrator does a fantastic job with the charters and setting the mood and pace. The author has put together a disturbing, though provoking, and haunting story. I would recommend this audio book to anyone who enjoys the narrator “Anna Fields” and a good story.
