Historia
Who is Audrey Hoedemaker? It's a question her sister Maureen has heard more times than she can count, and she doesn't know what the short answer would be. Little sister, troubled teen, backpacker, musical theatre coach, con artist, childcare worker. Murderer. A tragic, traumatic childhood casts a long shadow on the Hoedemaker sisters. Maureen has worked hard to move beyond the violence of the past and build a good, honest life for herself. Audrey, however, just can't seem to do the same, careening from one state of chaos to another.

I loved the historical details! I learned a little more about pirates and prohibition. A romantic clean read.

Terrible narration
Revisado: 06-26-24
Was this a real person reading? Sounded like a robot or AI voice. Emotionless, awkward…. The narrator didn’t put any effort into differentiating the voices of the various characters. Male and female characters all sounded alike. The story wasn’t really very developed. Quick rushed writing.

Got To know Mandela
Revisado: 01-12-23
If you have just a fuzzy recollection of Mandela and what he did; listen to this. Created by a writer who conducted interviews to write his book so you will get his commentary on Mandela also. I liked the excerpts of Mandela’s voice answering questions.
