I’ve really been enjoying this series. I wish Audible would have finished it. It is very engaging with excellent voice acting, narration, and music.

Hard to Follow

I agree with the other reviewer that this was a hard one to keep up with the story. I had not read any of the Richard Hannay books, but if I had this would have probably been much easier. The performance was decent, but it all just blended into a mushy, confusing mess for me. I might try the regular books at some point, but don't recommend this one for newcomers to the series.

Mixed Bag

Overall a nice collection of Wilde's plays and a couple other selections. I agree with the other reviewer that the LATW is a better production. I wish this included some of the great fairy tales such as the Selfish Giant, Happy Price, etc., but overall pretty good.

Excellent performances of several of the most beloved Holmes adventures. This is easily worth a credit for those who enjoy full cast audio or Holmes fans.

I probably wouldn't have kept going if the presentation wasn't as strong as it is. There are some cringe moments, but overall it comes together in a decent package. I'll keep going for the next one. Overall a fun series with a great cast.

The performance and production quality are top-notch as usual with the BBC recordings. I had only previously read 'Pride and Prejudice', and although I enjoyed that story I wasn't sure how much I would like the others so I thought this would be an easy way to stick my feet in the water. It ended up being a mixed bag for me personally . P&P is still my favorite of the stories, but I also enjoyed Sense and Sensibility and Mansfield Park as well. I didn't care for Northanger Abbey or Emma. I found Persuasion to be okay.

Wordy, but worthy

It was a book that one can get lost in the weeds as it jumps around from everything from Milton, to movies, to opera, and everything in-between. However, the content is more relevant than ever and the overall themes and message is very good.

An incredible value

Stephen Fry makes a fantastic narrator and I appreciated his introductions to the various books. I had never read any Sherlock up to this point and only watched various Sherlock programs on television. I was pleasantly surprised that I found them to be extremely readable today and not stuffy at all. These are very fun stories and for the most part I could get through one a day for the smaller stories and about one every three days for the larger ones. This will be one that I come back to again and again over the years.
