Keep looking
Revisado: 11-14-23
Story was okay, full of cliches. The narrator had no flow. Sadly her delivery was so stilted in places I was always distracted from the story. Narrator did okay when speaking in character voices but when she switched to general narration, it was as if she had never strung two words together while speaking/reading. Choppy, awful. I couldn’t finish the book.

Lewis doesn’t need the aggravation, just the money. The only requirements: run errands, be on call, and put up with a miserable old churl no one else in Buffalo can bear. After exchanging barbs, bickering, baiting, and pushing buttons, Chester hits Lewis with the big ask. Lewis can’t say no to a dying wish.

Weak story never develops
Revisado: 06-01-21
Had potential. Unsure if the characters could be more repetitive with their self indulgent internal chatter. Mistakenly I thought editors stopped books without development from being published. Move on.

Would have liked this story to last longer, characters well developed with still some mystery. Primary character displayed personal growth through new found humanity to become a helper.

Romance in its most absurdity
Revisado: 03-14-17
Spoilers. If you want to like this book based on other reviews, don't read this one. The phrase 'trying to hard' for dialogue comes to mind. People don't sound like this, and names; Stormy Ace, Maverick ....please I'm throwing up. I stopped listening to the book several times due to nauseating unrealistic interactions, but can't leave a book unfinished in my cue, will just delete in future. Head shaking, weak character development. Poor orphaned airport barista (who is secretly a jewelry designer) attracts the attention of mega rich pilot/airline owner. Right. The idiotic back and forth. What's he thinking? does he love me ? Is on target with her character. But in what fantasy (this one I guess) does he find any depth in her? Total waste of time .

3rd in series, story kept improving
Revisado: 06-12-16
Really enjoyed this story (third book), all of the characters previously developed worked well together and details connected nicely, as the story tied up loose ends. Fewer horrid voices from this narrator, although she continues to favor craggedy evil accented male voices for her characters making them all sound old and decrepit. Doesn't work for me. Her female voices were lovely and the story was creative.

Not a fan of this narrator
Revisado: 06-05-16
Loved the first book and its male narrator. This second book was a good story, with lots of adventure but a Different narrator for book two, female! Not so good. Her voice is lovely in its natural form, with a beautiful accent and a number of the voices she gave to characters were fine. However for a good number of voices, it was as if she tried too hard to them an evil or distinct sound, such that it fell so far short of acceptable for me, I struggled through the book. The awful voices made me cringe and I though more about stopping the book, than finishing it. Not looking forward to her for the third book and considering not even reading it.

Would you listen to Pines again? Why?
Pines was a great read, I kept wondering how the author would pull it together. Details didn't add up but I was completely sucked in.
What about Paul Michael Garcia’s performance did you like?
Narrator was able to create both like able personalities and a few that were despicably detestable.

Minutes in and Female lead character narrator ruins this. She cannot read a full line without inserting unnatural breaks, immature and grating voice. Not sure why I tried a vampire book. Hoping I got a free download. A waste of money will ask for refund.

Welcome to Ringworld, an intermediate step between Dyson Spheres and planets. The gravitational force created by a rotation on its axis of 770 miles per second means no need for a roof. Walls 1,000 miles high at each rim will let in the sun and prevent much air from escaping.
