Historia
I'm a 64-year-old retired lawyer and former Assistant Attorney General with an unusual story to tell. Every word of it is true. It happened in a state park known as Devil's Den. For fear of losing my job and damaging my reputation in the legal community, I never spoke about the incident. If it hadn't happened to me, I'd be skeptical too. In 1977, I was an active duty NCO in the USAF. A friend and I planned a two-night camping trip to explore the wilderness. We drove deep into the forest until we came to a high plateau. There on the horizon sat a perfect triangle of three very bright stars....

Riveting
Revisado: 06-21-20
Akin to the candid accounts and spellbinding encounters of Whitley Strieber, another brave soul breaks from the cocoon of secrecy into the perilous light of the ongoing disclosure movement.
For anyone that has encountered the paranormal, the genuineness of Terry’s recounting will strike particular cords, much like the recent R. H. Stavis book did for me. After reading her book and next reading this book, I firmly believe that negative entity attachments plague those that have been traumatized by abductions and lead to medically “unexplainable” repercussions. These two communities need to lock arms and help each-other.
While the proof and documentation that Terry has gathered from the physical world to affirm his experiences may help open the minds for readers on the fence about the subject, those of us that have had a taste of this flip-side reality will be more moved by other similarities to our own experiences. As they say, “It takes one to know one.”
The most clinching parts for me were the palpable smells, eerie atmosphere, uncontrollable anxiety and feelings of abject terror. If you have experienced similar things personally, Terry’s descriptions of these very human, primal responses and triggers will really speak to you and grab you.
Terry, thank you a million times for coming forward with this book. I wish you good health and offer my resounding support for your bravery and service to humanity. Keep going!

Historia
Whitley Strieber and Jeffrey J. Kripal team up on this unprecedented and intellectually vibrant new framing of inexplicable events and experiences. Rather than merely document the anomalous, these authors - one the man who popularized alien abduction and the other a renowned scholar - deliver a fast-paced and exhilarating study of why the supernatural is neither fantasy nor fiction but a vital and authentic aspect of life.

Finally! Intelligence, rationality and open mindedness together at last.

Thanks for doing this book to both Whitley and Jeffrey. The first thing I do when I experience strange stuff is go digging around for other experiences that “resonate”. The second thing I do is go search for examples in mythology. I never considered that comparative work was the underpinning of my natural instincts.
Thoughtful philosophical discussions are so, so important when dealing with these kinds of experiences.
I’m so happy to have found this work that challenges the reader to dig into self as questions lead to more questions. So much better that “proof” or “debunking” as the only two reactions normally offered.
Go, go 4th mind contemplation!!!

Historia
Under the aegis of machine learning in our data-driven machine age, computers are programming themselves and learning about - and solving - an extraordinary range of problems, from the mundane to the most daunting. Today it is machine learning programs that enable Amazon and Netflix to predict what users will like, Apple to power Siri's ability to understand voices, and Google to pilot cars.

Amazing book needs to be re-voiced
Revisado: 04-23-16
For anyone that wants to understand the conversation going on about big data and machine learning, this is a leap ahead.
For anyone that wants to be inspired by math and human ingenuity this is for you.
Plainly put, the voice actor sounds like a computer, to the degree I had to stop the book and look up if it was read by one. Very hard to listen to but so worth it if you can.

Historia
With his characteristic eyebrow-raising behavior, Richard P. Feynman once provoked the wife of a Princeton dean to remark, "Surely you're joking, Mr. Feynman!" But the many scientific and personal achievements of this Nobel Prize-winning physicist are no laughing matter. Here, woven with his scintillating views on modern science, Feynman relates the defining moments of his accomplished life.

I'm so glad people like this wrote it down!

What did you love best about Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!?
Raw, honest and hilarious. I love how he explains why he makes the choices he makes. The strength of the character is appealing and refreshing. We need more people to stick to their guns no matter the consequence when they have decided to do a thing, make a bet or go against the grain...it's just more interesting to see a thing through. I'm a mid 30's female and feel like we would have made fine friends. Do they make them like this anymore? I'll take 2 please!
You know a book is good when you wish you could have met the person IRL. He would probably never describe himself this way but I can see the impish twinkle in his eyes...
What did you like best about this story?
I'm glad when someone with a different way of thinking is able to navigate this crazy world and manages to stretch themselves past being comfortable in the pursuit of discovery, fun and expression without being so badly bruised by the experience. Here, here for intolerance to bureaucracy and pomp. How funny it would be today to try and get away with signing less than 13 times! I agree that if you trust someone enough to sign a thing that they should trust you to deliver the expense report, sans receipts..ROFL
What about Raymond Todd’s performance did you like?
Smooth voice, easy to listen to. Good characterization, voice acting and accents.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes but I had to listen in pieces. I could have listened to the entirety if I had time.
