Don’t understand the negative reviews

I decided to give this a try after reading the reviews. The negatives were focused on the female lead’s performance and lack of realism. If you have ever listened to real NASA public comm channels (I have) they are dry, boring and usually so full of acronyms and jargon you can’t understand them. Not storytelling material. It’s not the most satisfying story I’ve listened to, but it was enjoyable and honestly wish there was more. Yes, it took a mild effort to get past the initial annoyance with lack of depth of the characters and the confines the writing penned them in. As the story unfolded it did grow and the characters with it. I hope there are similar stories in the works from Audible.

Not crazy about the reader.

I love Cary Grant so I loved learning about him but the author is too detailed at times and went off on tangents.
The reader annoyed me. He appeared to be acting, with a purposely lowered voice. I almost stopped listening but I tolerated him...for Cary.
