Historia
For Coming of Age, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Peabody Award-winning radio host Studs Terkel - himself an octogenarian - interviewed several very different men and women ranging in age from 70 to 99. Some are powerful celebrities (Maggie Kuhn of the Grey Panthers, economist John Kenneth Galbraith); others are obscure people in small towns. Together they represent an extraordinary panorama of American life and work throughout this century and the ways in which the times have changed.

Many self-help books offer a lot of new age platitudes and sappy mantras: Just love yourself. See the glass as half full. Believe it and it will come. Really? That’s not how it works, and you know it.

If you could sum up Unlimited in three words, what would they be?
inspiring, interesting, excellent!
What other book might you compare Unlimited to and why?
I'd compare the book to having a personal life coach!
Have you listened to any of Jillian Michaels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Never saw her in anything or listened to her - now want more! Very inspiring, warm, upbeat, practical advice.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
you can do it!
Any additional comments?
if you need inspiration for changing your life, listen to this book. then go back and listen to each chapter again and do the exercises she assigns (mental exercises, not biggest loser kind)

Which is more dangerous, a gun or a swimming pool? What do schoolteachers and sumo wrestlers have in common? Why do drug dealers still live with their moms? How much do parents really matter? What kind of impact did Roe v. Wade have on violent crime?

This was my first experience with an audio book. Using the audible.com app online on my android phone, this was great experience and an interesting book. There is an interesting range of stories in this book, ranging from things like if crack dealers make so much money, why do they still live with their mothers - to an examination of the economic effects of different baby names....Occasionally there was a bit more material than I wanted to know - e.g, the baby name chapter had a bit too many comparison of lists of names, but overall it was an excellent listen. Now onto my next audio book!
