Historia
Why are Danes the happiest people in the world? The answer, says Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, is hygge. Loosely translated, hygge - pronounced hoo-ga - is a sense of comfort, togetherness, and well-being. "Hygge is about an atmosphere and an experience," Wiking explains. "It is about being with the people we love. A feeling of home. A feeling that we are safe."

Narration was AWFUL
Revisado: 05-02-20
I think I would have enjoyed this book in the physical paper form, as I love the concept of Hygge. Unfortunately the narrator ruins it. His voice is mechanical, monotone, very dull to listen to. Although I believe the narrator is Danish, and has more or less perfect English, he does have a fairly heavy accent on certain words making those words hard to decifer. If you are interested in Hygge buy the actual book.

Good story, however...
Revisado: 03-02-20
The story was nice, and reasonably well written, although in my opinion, the characters lacked depth, were not sufficiently fleshed out. The narration on the whole was very good, except for Connor ("Con"), who started out as an amiable, energetic, perhaps working class London kid and progressed, as the book went on, to a super ethnic, super annoying accent - there is a marked difference from the beginning to about halfway through. Predictable and fluffy, but rather enjoyable. However would not go back for seconds.

Historia
Lucy Sullivan is 26 and living it up (and occasionally down) in London. Hers is a life of quiet, undisciplined desperation. But when she and three friends visit a psychic for a bit of fun and the woman's predictions start coming true, Lucy is horrified. For the fortune-teller insisted she'd soon be married - within the year, in fact. Not only does Lucy not have a boyfriend, but the chances of getting one are looking slim. Between the bottles of wine, antidepressants and her addiction to self-help books, she's not quite ready to walk, or even stumble, down the aisle sober.

Brilliant Book, Well Narrated
Revisado: 01-02-20
As a longtime, die-hard fan of Marian Keyes, listening to her books as opposed to reading is always a bit anxiety-inducing at first. Although others have criticized the narrator, I thought she did an excellent job, with one exception. She is very talented with accents, producing flawless London (Cockney-ish), Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Yorkshire and even German! The only place she falls down is with Daniel. The character of Daniel, whilst being gentlemanly and kind, is also meant to be cool, saavy, good looking with a good job... and she makes him sound like a bumbling, goofy, uneducated half-wit - not Daniel at all - especially if you have read the book prior to listening. However, overall a very good performance.
