A L'Amour Adventure at its Best
Revisado: 03-22-25
Many people know the name Louis L'Amour, but many don't know of his works outside of his westerns. While his westerns make up the bulk of his work, and are phenomenal, he wrote many other genres, including crime and adventure. If you enjoyed this production, and I don't know how you could not have, I implore you to delve further down the rabbit hole of his works. You will not be disappointed.

L'Amour has always been peak men's adventure fiction
Revisado: 03-01-25
Even written back in 54, this story still resonates with everything a good, strong man should be, as do all of L'Amour's stories. We need more true men's adventure fiction like this today.

Historia
Colin Dickey is on the trail of America's ghosts. Crammed into old houses and hotels, abandoned prisons and empty hospitals, the spirits that linger continue to capture our collective imagination, but why? His own fascination piqued by a house hunt in Los Angeles that revealed derelict foreclosures and "zombie homes", Dickey embarks on a journey across the continental United States to decode and unpack the American history repressed in our most famous haunted places.

An interesting viewpoint overrun by political bias
Revisado: 02-28-22
I don't mind the fact that the author debunks many popular urban legends and ghost stories. However, I could not get past the overt political biases.

Amazing story and performance. Raymond Chandler single-handedly created the hard-boiled detective with Phillip Marlowe. Cannot recommend this enough.

Historia
Twenty years ago, it was as if someone turned on a light. The future blazed into existence with each deliberate word that William Gibson laid down. The winner of Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

Almost perfect (except for the narration)
Revisado: 09-21-19
While I've been a fan of the cyberpunk subgenre for as long as I can remember, this is the first William Gibson story that I've dove into. It did not disappoint. It became blatantly clear that Mr. Gibson has done for cyberpunk, what Tolkien did for high fantasy.
All that being said, the only thing that stops this from being a perfect experience was the narration. While the narrator did not have terrible performance, his voice did tend to develop a monotonous quality at times. Also, it may not hurt him to take a few dialect classes.
