Historia
After facing war, death, unruly gods, and unmitigated evil, Minalan the Spellmonger is forced to return to Farise, the site of his earliest battles, with the simple assignment to conquer the subtropical city-state and expel the pirates that plague the kingdom’s shipping. Tired of warfare, Minalan embarks on a clandestine campaign to do so, assuming an alias and setting up shop in Farise as a mere Practical Adept as cover for his operation. Recruiting a cadre of talented agents to assist, he reluctantly begins the task of infiltrating and observing Farisian society.

if you've been reading or listening, or both from the beginning, this is an unexpected turn to get Calidor saved from the withering light. I forsee interesting avenues to restore a celestial mother to the Vandal. Arch Mage? Well, step one.

Why in the ever hateful hell did they cast a damned ENGLISHMAN to narrate a story framed in America?
Revisado: 03-16-24
oh the first book was so laborious. the second book was tolerable. this one was at least a cap on the whole affair. This was like " Charmed " for me. enteryaining but not worth a second look. Not a waste of money but not something you're going to revisit over the next decades like you do Tolkien or Hickman.

it's good but not great. Honestly I find the blooper reels from R.C. to be at least funny. I HATED Independence Day. Yet I kept reading and listening to subsequent books. I do have faith in Craig's talent. I do think this series will improve. but sometimes I feel like Duke, The Gin and Boots are just Skippy having a psychotic break.

Historia
With the Builder threat behind them, the time has finally come for Jason and his team to hit the road. Eager to get back to the adventuring he’s been longing for, Jason is excited to not be at the center of world-changing events. But before he goes, one last attempt to pull him into politics has him leaving Rimaros with a strong final impression. With new places to visit and new people to meet, the remnants of recent events have scarred the land and left lingering dangers behind. It's a busy time for adventurers willing and able to fight with monsters.

Heath Miller is an excellent narrator for this.
Revisado: 04-22-23
However Travis is meh as an author. I'm surprised he finally produced a book worthy of more than ten hours of audio. Seriously Travis, don't give Heath too much shade for making your books more interesting than your writing deserves. But like Asano, you have potential. Keep at it. As long as you don't muck it up too badly with current events I'll keep buying your books. I do recommend you read " The Goulog Archipelago " by Solzhenitsyn. Jason is obviously under educated. Though I am impressed by his reserve in taking on Stalinist authority.

Well it's not bad for a muckraker book.
Revisado: 03-03-23
The narrator did an excellent job. My issue is with the Author. He being of Indian descent obviously has an axe to grind with Europe over colonialism. What is happening, has as much to do with the culture of the Congolese as it does with the supply chain. Africa has been with the exception of Egypt largely aimless. There are hundreds of races and thousands of disparate tribal factions. I am not excusing Leopold or the big corporations. However, what is happening there is not a fault of capitalism. This is an example of the old mercantilism. And it only exists with the cooperation of the Congolese. Their self immolation will not end until they stand up as India did with the guidance of Ghandi. The whole continent suffers from corruption, religious fanaticism, and racism. Some places are better than others. But remember, the Congo was a mess before Leopold. The slaving was what brought the Europeans, not started by them. If the Chinese stay involved things will definitely get worse. If we could somehow encourage and get an honest government, even one like we see in the UAE then investment in schools and safe working environments would make more sense.

Historia
Minalan the Spellmonger has a problem: Mycin Amana, the undead consort of Korbal the Necromancer, is not only occupying one of the largest castles in the kingdom; she’s also occupying the recently-dead body of his former lover, rapist, and mother of his children, Isily of Greenflower. As the crises in the heart of the kingdom grows, Minalan is tasked to force the so-called Witch Queen of Darkfaller from her new stronghold using any means necessary. Unfortunately, the castle belongs to his rival in the royal court and future monarch Prince Tavard, whose ideas are doomed to failure.

A worthy continuation of the Saga.
Revisado: 12-09-22
Terry Mancour has been imagining and writing his ass off for a better part of a decade and a half on this world. He has exceeded Stephen R Donaldson and Orson Scott Card in this genre. And unlike George R R Martin he stays committed to a universe and doesn't leave an audience in suspense for years, or in some cases forever. I suppose Terry isn't as obese as George. But I've never seen a picture of the former. Terry makes John Lee's performance as narrator much easier with a compelling script. My only criticism of Lee is that he's lost track somewhat of how he presents some characters. Otherwise he's a delightful voice actor who I hope may sometime consent to narrating one of my works if I can ever get them into a state worth publishing. If not there's always Brick... he'll narrate anything.

Derrick Perkins is a narrator to whom it is easy to listen. This story doesn't get too obtuse like many authors trying to be clever inevitably write. I will probably listen to the whole series.

Historia
The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Revisado: 07-01-22
laughs, plot twists, infantile humor. It's amazing how Shirtaloon has enough creative talent to cover for his elementary mindset. But this is an RPG novel series. I could see someone having a D&D group behaving much the same as characters here. It's a fun distracting listen.

Prince Gaborn, the Earth King, has defeated the forces arrayed against him each time before: the magical and human forces marshaled by Raj Ahten, who seeks immortality at any cost and has given up his humanity in trade; and the inhuman, innumerable, insectile hordes of the giant Reavers from under the Earth, whose unknowable motives are inimical to human life.

I struggled through the first book, did better on the 2nd but this one made the story complete and made some more sense. Plot twists galore happen throughout the series. This book somewhat redeemed the series. I hate half the magic system (endowments).
