Historia
Finding logical inconsistencies, factual errors, and doublespeak wherever he looks, Al Franken takes on and destroys the myth of liberal bias in the media, hoists the Bush White House on its own rhetorical petard, and punctures the mean-spirited sanctimony of such media darlings as Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly. Timely, provocative, unfailingly honest, and always uproarious, Lies is sure to raise hackles and spark hilarity inside the Beltway and from sea to shining sea.

An Indispensable History of Right Wing Mendacity
Revisado: 09-30-17
This was an easy read, like reading Snopes with a sense of humor. It shows how the fake news machines that gave us President Trump were assembled from the raw materials of profit-driven news, rabid tribalism, and a lack of patriotic solidarity. It's the kind of story that would warm Vladimir Putin's heart if he had one, told as a warning and a call to action for anyone foolish enough to think that politics can't hurt him or her. Essential reading, definitely, and worthy of a second edition, whenever the deadly seriousness of a pair of nuclear-armed narcissists volleying insults to distract their countries from their kleptocratic leaders is far enough astern for it to be funny, assuming there's anyone alive to read it.

Historia
Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi set out to describe the nature of George Bush's America in the post-9/11 era and ended up vomiting demons in an evangelical church in Texas, riding the streets of Baghdad in an American convoy to nowhere, searching for phantom fighter jets in Congress, and falling into the rabbit hole of the 9/11 Truth Movement.

Inadvertently Explains Trump
Revisado: 05-31-16
This is a fascinating read from before the 2016 election cycle, made all the more relevant and terrifying with what we're now learning of the political landscape in the U.S.
