Historia
Imagine that you were given the opportunity to interview Jesus, the most remarkable human being of all time. What would you ask? What would he say? That is the premise of this book by psychiatrist Dr. Andrew G. Hodges, a man accustomed to interviewing people about their llives, motives, hopes and fears. The questions are those you or I might ask; the answers are given as if Jesus were sitting beside us, chatting leisurely on a hill in modern Galilee....

Bad audio production
Revisado: 04-06-15
I have a very large audible library, and this is one of the of very few where the audio production quality was unacceptable.
I do not recommend buying this edition of the audiobook..

Historia
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, rise from the sea, a war begins that will take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon is devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes.

Very entertaining story well narrated
Revisado: 08-27-14
This is very entertaining audiobook and well narrated. If you enjoy science fiction, I think you'll like this book. It contains plenty of action, with pretty well developed characters.
That said, it is much better than the movie, and I can't recommend the movie at all.

Historia
In 1973, Secretariat, the greatest champion in horse-racing history, won the Triple Crown. The only horse to ever grace the covers of Time, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated in the same week, he also still holds the record for the fastest times in both the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes. He was also the only non-human chosen as one of ESPN's "50 Greatest Athletes of the Century".

Deservedly very popular horse reacing book!
Revisado: 08-26-14
Any fan of thoroughbred horse racing will love this book. This is a very popular book on horse racing, and deservedly so. Few books describe a horse race so vividly, no others so beautifully.
This book will tell you everything about Secretariat, something about the history of thoroughbred racing in American, and much about his owner/breeder, his trainer and his jockey.
If you are even a casual fan of horse racing you will enjoy this book. Don't shy away because you think it will be dry, or that it might contain too much history that you won't like. It is beautifully written, and very well narrated.
This edition contains an epilog read by William Nack himself.

Historia
Tommy is 29, lives and loves in London, and has a morbid fear of the "C" word (commitment), the "B" word (boyfriend), and the "F" word (forgetting to call his drug dealer before the weekend). But when he begins to feel the urge to become a father, and the pressure from his boyfriend to settle down, Tommy starts to wonder if his chosen lifestyle can ever make him happy. Faced with the choice between maintaining his hedonistic existence or chucking it all in favor of a far more sensitive, fulfilling, and slightly more staid lifestyle, Tommy finds himself in a true quandary.

Alan Cumming narrates a novel by Allan Cumming
Revisado: 08-26-14
I am a big fan of Alan Cumming the author, and I loved this audiobook where he narrates his own novel.
I liked the overall story but rated it down somewhat for the all the drug use. I know that people use drugs, but at times this story felt like that was was all that was going on.
I highly enjoyed the fact that this was a story where gay characters can have a happy ending.

Great Story, Wonderful Performances
Revisado: 11-11-13
This dramatization of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere features many wonderful performances, the very best being that of James McAvoy. If you are a fan of Gaiman and/or McAvoy, don't miss this! One caution, some of the characters, especially the lead played by James McAvoy have heavier Scottish and English accents which may challenge American listeners.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

One of my freakin' favorites!
Revisado: 06-10-13
I've listened to this audiobook several times. There is so much going in this story, I can turn it on at any point, and just listen for hours.
Left for dead when his crew is forced to suddenly abort the mission, astronaut Mark Watley pits his formidable intelligence against everything the red planet throws at him.
Plenty of hard science for those like me who regularly read science fiction, but really, it doesn't matter if you're not used to reading science fiction. The characters usually explain what's happening.
The audiobook contains quite a lot of humor, and the narrator handles it beautifully. Very well done!
I have over 450 books in my Audible library, and this book is one of my top 10 reads of all time.
But if you don't like profanity, please don't buy the book, you wouldn't enjoy it.
So freakin' listen to it already!!!

Morton's Narration Saved This One For Me
Revisado: 10-22-09
This audiobook is probably more for those into character development than action. I bought this because I'm a fan of Euan Morton's narration, and that is the best part of this audiobook to me. Morton again is a marvel and who knew, he can even sing!

A great listen - my favorite book in years!
Revisado: 06-02-09
This is a phenomenal story. I read a book or two a week and listen to audiobooks hours every day and this is my favorite book in years. A thinking person's horror story. If you are a history or literature buff, you should check this out. If you somehow have missed it this long, do yourself a favor - listen to it! Read it! Do both, I did!

Pocket has been Lear's cherished fool for years. So naturally Pocket is at his brainless, elderly liege's side when Lear demands that his kids swear to him their undying love and devotion. Of course Goneril and Regan are only too happy to brownnose Dad. But Cordelia believes that her father's request is kind of...well...stupid, and her blunt honesty ends up costing her her rightful share of the kingdom and earns her a banishment to boot.

Great Listen - Need more Morton!
Revisado: 06-02-09
I listen to audiobooks hours every day, and this is one of my absolute favorites. The reading/performance by Euan Morton is absolutely phenomenal. He was very good as Paul in the Dune books, I think it was 2 books, but on those I think he was limited to just the one character. He is superb with this book! We need more Morton!
