A Night at Key West is centered around the activities of a private investigator hired to track a wayward wife to discover her clandestine activities. As the woman is being followed, she leads the private investigator to the home of Ernest Hemingway, where she is to meet with a gentleman for adult fun and games. As the story unfolds, you learn that many of the characters have different agendas, from writing to fishing to prostitution, to mention only a few. Fans of Hemingway will revel in real life references to the different books and activities of Hemingway, while those not as much in the know, will be fascinated to learn some of the activities of which they may be unfamiliar. Including all these in this "who done it" add a note of realism to this work of fiction. Tom Jordan, as the narrator, does his usual outstanding job in bringing the characters to life, which makes him one of my favorite narrators. Give Night at Key West a listen. It will keep your interest from beginning to end.

Notorious San Francisco is a compilation of various "bad guys" from the early days of San Francisco. For history fans, especially those of the darker side of history, this is a good listen. Tom Jordan, as always, narrates in such as way as to hold your attention, making you feel as if you are there with the bad guys. Give Notorious San Francisco a listen. If crime is your "bag', you will fill it with this book.

One Eyed Jack returns for installment two of the One Eyed Jack series, in Russian Roulette. The story is a continuation of the original, with Jack facing dangers from his previous enemies, conundrums of what to do with some of his previous marks, and how to make things right in the end for all. Even for his Russian nemesis. Although "to make things right" would be highly subjective, depending upon whether you asked Jack or the Russian. Once again, Jack shows his compassion for the "innocent", as he takes dangers on himself, to prevent dangers to them. Tom Jordan, as he did in the original narration, brings Jack to life in such as way that you may wonder if Tom and Jack are actually one person! They are not, but the narration is so smooth and spot on, that you may have trouble telling the difference between the two. Give Russian Roulette a listen, and find out if Jack saves the day, as well as his ass!

One Eyed Jack introduces us to a new villain to root for. While Jack is a black mailer extraordinaire, he does it in such a manner that you find yourself rooting for him. Jack uses his computer skills and knowledge of social media to gather information on his marks. So much that he knows intimate details that the target may have even forgotten themselves. As the story unfolds, you can't help but like Jack, in spite of him being the bad guy. By book's end, you see that while Jack is indeed a criminal, he is a criminal with compassion. Tom Jordan as narrator, is the perfect voice for Jack. Bringing Jack to life, and making him human, is brilliantly accomplished by Tom. Give the book a listen. I think you'll agree that Tom and Jack are the perfect pair to make you enjoy this book.

The Unkind Hours is a book that grabs your attention from beginning to end. The story moves along with a pace that keeps your interest. While the plot of a missing child has been done many times, the author does this one with a twist that many a family member in such a situation has surely often thought of, but rarely acted upon. The plot twists in such a way that most readers will never see coming, and what a twist it is. You'll have to read or listen to find out, as I won't give it away. Tom Jordan does an excellent job in the narration, making the listener feel as if they are alongside the characters for every twist and turn. Tom Jordan has quickly become one of my favorite narrators. So much so, that now I often search for new books to listen to by narrator, rather than by author. Tom does not disappoint in The Unkind Hours.

For those fans who enjoy thrillers like the Mitch Rapp or Scot Harvath genre, if you haven't tried the Mitch Herron series, you need to do so. Herron is similar to the others as a bad ass that takes on all comers, albeit in a character that doesn't appear to be operating within the realm of government sanctioned activities. Herron operates outside of the "law" in a manner in which Rapp and Harvath have not ventured. There is no government backing Herron, even as loosely as Rapp and Harvath perform their duties. As a listener (rather an a reader) of audio books, the narrator can make the difference between a book being an "easy listen" or one that struggles to keep your interest. With that said, Tom Jordan is an outstanding narrator. His reading style brings the characters to life, and definitely makes for a good listen. This being the first book I've listened to that was narrated by Tom Jordan, I must say, he is well on the way to becoming one of my favorite narrators. As I've listened to all of my favorite authors book, I'm looking for new books to enjoy, while my favorite authors get with the program and get me some new material. To that end, as I enjoyed the narration of this book, I am now searching specifically for titles narrated by Tom Jordan. If the Mitch Herron series is any indication, I am definitely looking forward to discovering many more titles with Tom Jordan as narrator.
