I would have given the story a 5 except. I'm confused by the ending. I enjoyed the ending, but the whole book is about stopping this evil. In the end he does save the girls. But the house is still there and the evil is still there. So he saved 2 lives, but now he's gone, and he was the only person who can resist the evil. So now the Evil is completely unstoppable. yet he's at piece and at home. I'm really confused by this ending. I get good doesn't always over come evil, but he's acting like he did overcome the evil in the end. Oh, and his brother is still living in the house with the evil.

As a huge fan of the Archangel and the Psy-Changling series', I'm so thrilled with this book. what a beautiful story for 2 of my favorite character In this series. These characters deserved this story. I was hoping their path would be together. (in my opinion it was the natural path for these two) but I wasn't sure if the author would actually go there. proud of you Nalini Singh.

That was amazing! i loved it!! What an inventive and fitting conclusion to this particular branch of the story line. I'm so happy to see that there are more books scheduled!!! i cant wait to see what Nalini Singh comes up with next for our Archangel, his consort & all the others we love from this captivating universe she has created.

Strong woman or brat?

I enjoyed the overall plot. But I'm unsure when being a strong woman became throwing temper tantrums, being completely unyielding and unable to see anything from someone else's view point. Leah is just a brat. Rachel is a little better. Ari is the character that kept me going threw the series. She is a strong woman. she's complex, caring & courageous,with a strong sense of character. She was backed into a horrible situation and did the best she could. But Leah just got on my nerves. I can handle bratty, shelfish characters, the books are fiction after all. But what made me almost stop reading many times was that Leah kept being hailed as a strong, capable woman. if the books called her the brat she is, I'd have been fine.

liked the overall story. liked the story tellers performance. disappointed with the heroine. I wanted to like her. she over comes adversity in her life and works hard to achieve her goal/dream. but really I just found her annoying. she's quit selfish in a lot of ways and she's childish/immature. she's constantly running away. I want to know how the story turns out, but not enough to read the 3rd book. I'm just sort of done with this character.
