I’ve been listening to audio books for a while now, and I had some favorite narrators that I’ve been following. I absolutely need to add Bronson Pinchot to the list and move him straight to the top!! The story was pretty good, but Mr Pinchot made it come alive for me. Gotta go find more of his work! 🙂

Best narration ever

I think Joel Froomkin has just become my favorite narrator! He brought this book to life for me, and had me on the edge of my seat.
The story was great, which is par for the course from Ms Rose, and leaves me looking forward to the next one.
If you haven’t read the series, consider it. This can be a standalone, but you’ll enjoy all of the others as well.

It’s one thing to listen to a good book read by one narrator, and better when there are two.
But all of my faves narrating one book?? Outstanding!
The story was pretty great, too. Lauren Blakely is definitely one of my favorite romance authors.

The story was okay, but the female narrator kind of bugged me. It was like listening to a female William Shatner. Of course, I had to finish once I’d started, but I will definitely keep an eye out for other books she’s narrated so I can avoid them.

Likable characters

I liked the story and the characters, and the performances were top notch. I really enjoy Sebastian York and Andi Arndt’s narrations.
Grant and Ireland had a few roadblocks along the way, but Grant’s story was so heartbreaking. I loved that Ireland was so there for him.
Great listen.

I may be spoiled, but the narration was mediocre. My first thought was it sounded like it was being read in a bathroom, since there was a kind of tin-can sound to it. The narrator, bless her heart, sounded like a student reading a book report. That may be because the book itself was kind of “overwritten”. Normally I wouldn’t finish this type of book, but I did in order to write this review.
Neither of the characters were compelling enough for me to like them, the author didn’t keep track of certain details (was his man part 9 or 10 inches?), and so many words when just a few will do. If the author removed the repeated descriptions, this could have easily been one or two books.
I wouldn’t recommend it.
