Historia
The year is 2033. The world has been reduced to rubble. Humanity is nearly extinct and the half-destroyed cities have become uninhabitable through radiation. Beyond their boundaries, they say, lie endless burned-out deserts and the remains of splintered forests. Survivors still remember the past greatness of humankind, but the last remains of civilisation have already become a distant memory. Man has handed over stewardship of the earth to new life-forms. A few score thousand survivors live on, not knowing whether they are the only ones left on Earth....

By far the best Narrator
Revisado: 05-08-21
The gentleman that read this book is by far the absolute best narration of any audio book I've heard.
The book itself is NOT an action packed journey full of scary mutants, it's almost like a fever dream of the main character, which is very fitting for its setting. The few action set pieces (towards the end) are very well written and remain realistic.
It is slow at times but stick with it and you'll understand why. I highly recommend for just the amazing narration alone!

Good listen/read, worth the money
Revisado: 03-02-21
Over all great book, narration was very good and the flow of the story was great. Was interesting to finally get to learn more about Umbra and how it came to be, and what chaos it tried to sow upon the world.

Historia
With a new game, Mass Effect Andromeda, set for release in 2017, the launch of a new series of Mass Effect novels is timely. The new game will take the story in a dramatic new direction and is set in a new region of space, with a new and deadly enemy.

Great look into other species of mass effect
Revisado: 01-24-21
I'll start off saying this book is definitely worth a listen/read. The narrator at first didn't jive with me until he started on other characters and he showed his amazing range of voice acting. His Elcor is amazing!
Now the story itself was actually really, really good...up until the end...After which it felt almost like the author ran out of ideas and just kind of ended it, but the insight how other non council species handle very bad situations is really interesting. Overall an awesome book with an amazing narrator.

Great story, awesome narration
Revisado: 01-24-21
Yet another great entry in the mass effect story! a must listen if you're interested in the back story of side characters. I loved the narrators work, she did an awesome job. The story was solid, not the best in the world but I enjoy any and all life on these wonderful games.

More suited to a younger audience I’d say
Revisado: 12-27-20
So this is a decent book to be totally honest, I’m used to more adult themes and darker story lines. So trying to set aside my bias.
The good: the story is overall well knitted together and some actually really good suspenseful areas, also the narrator did an amazing job with a range of different voices and read with overall great personality.
The bad: the villain(s) were very cartoony and lacked a lot of depth, mainly there just to die and not really bring any real strife. Too many “oh no he /she is going to die! Wonderful life reviving magic!” It’s ok to let characters to die, it gives us reader something to get upset about. While I did enjoy how almost all of the characters weren’t just magic killing machines, I did wish they were able to do more.
Overall a decent listen

a funny history of one of the greatest nations
Revisado: 11-17-20
An amazing phenomenal read/listen! I do a lot of driving so this book not only kept me entertained but also had plenty of laughs. Lots of education, put into interesting small tid bits of information.
If you love history, and want to learn of one of the most important nations. I'll be buying any other book this man writes!
