Historia
Nyx and his dysfunctional family have finally escaped the clinging, toxic confines of the Flow’s sphincter—aka, a silver-ranked “corrupted gate.” And what better way to celebrate their newfound freedom than a family vacation? One filled with all the classics. Songs, games, epic monsters, unnecessary crafting projects, delicious and gratuitous descriptions of food, flesh-eating bamboo forests, and strange new cities. But, most importantly, family bonding time.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Review Farmed?
Revisado: 02-07-24
How in the world does this have 47 Thousand reviews talking about it being the best book ever? the narrator is fine but I couldn't take his accent for too long, sore or was on character and there were other Gods choices he did, but bleh... the story was ok and it definitely wasn't super funny. I highly suspect someone paid a click farm in China to submit thousands of good reviews, or there are way more 14 year old boys listening to audible than I suspected -- it's the only thing that makes sense. at least it's free.

I was a little disappointed about no full cast, but this was great! I found the writing skilful, the narrator excellent, and a fun change of pace from the last book. if you liked the other two this is 100% worth it.

Historia
As a Knight of Crystallia, I, Bastille, swore to protect the Smedry clan from the Evil Librarians. (And believe me, screwups like them constantly need protecting.) But when Alcatraz Smedry got strapped to an altar of outdated encyclopedias to be sacrificed to the dark gods, I arrived too late―and instead his father took his place. Now Alcatraz is a blubbering mess, so it’s up to me lead the charge against his father’s killer: Biblioden, founder of the Evil Librarians―I was sure he died centuries ago!―who’s back to complete his goal of world domination.

sweet but short
Revisado: 10-28-22
An ok end to wrap up the series, but just too darn short. I wanted more of her kicking ass. Even considering that this story is true, I wish you would have made some more stuff up, Bastille! You are my hero! Forget that Alcatraz chump.
I always love the performance of this voice actor, no gripes there at all!

I was a big fan of super powered, and this did not disappoint! while I missed the excellent narration in super powered, I appreciate the need for a female narrator here. don't get me wrong she was great! but it's hard to live up to the other guy.

pit of sadness and failure
Revisado: 08-11-21
amazing performance. I love the African fantasy setting. the characters make you want to kill them yourself as they endlessly love-and-yet-also-want/try&fail-to-kill-each-other. I appreciate what the author is doing 100% but it was a bit... much for me, which I know is the point, hence the rating, but. yeah. I doubt know if I can stomach another like this. the first book had hope. this book had failure, struggle, and loss. check it out :)

Delightful
Revisado: 09-03-20
As an older millenial who grew up with gen x siblings, current owner of a VR rig, and recovered WOW addict, I can relate 1 million percent to this story, references, performance, characters, everything. Wil was a energetic joy to listen to, even though his voices are all pretty much the same, I didn't mind at all. The book gets a little long winded with the 80s stuff, but it's nice atmosphere, and fits the books overall arc.
Bravo
