Not what I expected
Revisado: 01-18-22
From the reviews and awards, I was expecting much more from this story. It was very disappointing because it just didn’t make any sense.
I am a child of the 50’s. Although my family was not rich, and we certainly did not live with the uncertainty of this family, I just could not believe that a reasonably intelligent African American young person would subject themselves to this type of experimentation for money.
I certainly understood why she felt she had to do it but if she died who would have helped her mother then. Just not what I was expecting.

Very intriguing short story
Revisado: 08-13-20
This story was an intriguing look at how easily some of us take things for granted when we meet people. It always easy as we read to think that things that happen are so obvious and how you would be so alert but if you are a trusting individual you might just not notice. I’m not so sure but I know I’m cynical.
Good story in any case worth the 2 hour listen.

Historia
Easy Rawlins is out of the investigation business and as far away from crime as a black man can be in 1960s Los Angeles. But living around desperate men means life gets complicated sometimes. When an old friend gets in enough trouble to ask for Easy's help, he finds he can't refuse. Bad Boy Brawly Brown is the masterful crime novel that Walter Mosley's legions of fans have been waiting for. This book marks the return of a master at the top of his form.

This was an interesting story in keeping with a typical Easy Rawlins twist but the performance was little to be desired.

Interesting Biography
Revisado: 04-26-18
She does curse a lot that being said some of the episodes in her life were funny and complicated but some of her philosophy seemed contrived. I believe she believes she is happy in the skin she is in but she still came off as a white girl.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

I loved the twist and turns of this story. I did not enjoy as I often don't the subjugation of women to their husbands.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 04-18-16
The overall story was memorable. The characters were rich and believable. My only comment was the performance. Many times the voice of each character seemed the same so it was hard to determine who was talking.
Very moving.

Page turner
Revisado: 10-13-15
Dan Brown always weaves a good story with many twist and turns you don't see at first. Loved the story premise as this is or should be a concern to the global community.
Although it should never be the decision of one individual nor do I think that a solution such as depicted in the book would be a decision anyone would make lightly.
I would definitely recommend this to all science fiction fans.
