Asimov was not only one of the most prolific authors of all time, he was one of the most moving and inspiring authors. The Naked Sun makes us aware of our humanity. Our flaws and our strengths. Follow the series on into the Foundation and you find that he was also prophetic! I recommend these books to anyone and everyone.

Nice change from princesses and fancy horses

I have read/heard quite a bit of Mercedes Lackey's works and had grown a bit tired of the fancy horse series. This is a breath of fresh air and a complete change. Her usual well researched descriptions and magnetic story line makes this a great beginning to a new obsession.

Even with some rather amazing (quantum?) story shifts, it was easy to follow the plot and yet the ending was surprising. I loved it and would gladly hear more.

Nice but too much war

I enjoyed the storyline, and the performance, but for me there was too much attention paid to the combat scenes. I would have preferred more attention to the characters and the magical elements.

Sanderson lives up to his rep

Brandon Sanderson manages to educate, inform, and philosophize without sermonizing. He keeps the story upbeat and humorous while getting you to think about some heavy concepts. I am an accountant, but even during tax season, I couldn't stop listening.

Powerful, emotional and thought provoking

The forces of good and evil have never been portrayed in a better context. The battles that ensue, even within individuals who are assumed to be one or the other , demonstrate an elevated thought process that few authors can describe except in dry textbooks.

Le Guin at her best!

What did you love best about The Telling?

While involving the reader in an intriguing tale of a woman discovering herself on a strange world the main character discovers that stories are much more important than she ever realized. They impact both for her own past and the history of the planet she has come to.

Among the upper crust of Sci-Fi authors, Ursula K Le Guin lives up to her reputation in this book as she wraps you in multiple layers of intrigue, politics, religion and emotion.
