Historia
Since the Big Bubble popped in 1929, life in the United States hasn't been the same. Hotshot wizards will tell you nothing's really changed, but then again, hotshot wizards aren't looking for honest work in Enid, Oklahoma. No paying jobs at the mill, because zombies will work for nothing. The diner on Main Street is seeing hard times as well, because a lot fewer folks can afford to fly carpets in from miles away.

baseball
Revisado: 06-25-24
Baseball with a hint of urban fantasy. Ok, it's primarily a baseball story. The fantasy elements were few and far between. Honestly, they didn't add much of anything to the story.
If you like baseball, I mean really like baseball, this will be a good book for you. It's a 1930s era setting with those few fantasy elements.
I liked the characters and the narration was good for this style book. It's mostly a guy traveling with a barn storming baseball team so don't look for any complicated plot.
Overall, I enjoyed it.

Nevertheless, with twin toddlers, a stepdaughter leaving for college soon, a real estate career to resume and a historic home that is still being restored, Melanie doesn’t have much time to wonder where it all went wrong - but that doesn’t stop her from trying to win her husband back.

Not thrilled with how the author ended the Mark Longo story arc. It seemed like it was built up and then wrapped up behind the scenes.
I like the series and will try the spin off.

Historia
Set adrift by his pirate crew, Pocket of Dog Snogging - last seen in The Serpent of Venice - washes up on the sun-bleached shores of Greece, where he hopes to dazzle the Duke with his comedic brilliance and become his trusted fool. But the island is in turmoil. Egeus, the Duke’s minister, is furious that his daughter Hermia is determined to marry Demetrius, instead of Lysander, the man he has chosen for her. The Duke decrees that if, by the time of the wedding, Hermia still refuses to marry Lysander, she shall be executed...or consigned to a nunnery.

****Vague Spoilers Ahead
An emotional read. I know we'll have a while to go before the next but hurry up already.
Don't expect to get through this unscathed. Few if the characters do and some would question that.
Loss, especially during the initial period is difficult to get over. It's distracting at the oddest moments and the oddest ways. Sometimes, you need something to distract you from the distraction. Something to keep your attention.
Harry has distractions. To many. They divide his attentions. Open him up to his loss.

Historia
This hilarious, heartfelt, and soaring adventure will delight fans of The Goonies and Indiana Jones. Performed as a 1930s radio drama, it’s bursting with humor for all ages, orchestral scoring, and some of the most talented voices on Broadway. When their ace pilot parents (and adorable puppy) mysteriously disappear over the Pacific, the Flamingo Sisters - Flo, Faye, and Franny - escape the clutches of their evil Uncle Freidrich (who believes girls should never pilot aeroplanes) and join a flying circus.

Needs a redo on the recording.
Revisado: 08-21-20
Didn't care for the narrator for this particular book. I've liked him in others but he just didn't work here. Other readers in this audio sound like someone just handed them a list of lines and said, 'Read these into the mike" with no understanding of what was going on or what they were responding to. Audio tricks also were annoying but mostly consistent.
I'd suggest a redo because I really love this book. It's a great story with great characters. Just recorded so poorly.

Historia
Make sure the kids aren’t around! Just because you’re a grown-up doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the art of the children’s bedtime story. Nick Offerman presents this collection of 12 short stories written in the style of a classic kids' tale, but with a decidedly dark and adult approach. What really happened after Snow White died, from the perspective of the one medically trained dwarf? A naive wizard professor reports back from the trenches of an underprivileged school of magic. And much more!
