Historia
There is Thorn, a shaman himself. He lives to pass down his wisdom and his stories - to teach those who would follow in his footsteps. There is Heather, the healer who, in many ways, holds the clan together. There is Elga, an outsider and the bringer of change. And then there is Loon, the next shaman, who is determined to find his own path. But in a world so treacherous, that journey is never simple - and where it may lead is never certain.

I couldn't get into it
Revisado: 09-15-24
I couldn't get into it, so I just let it play in the background. It's not a bad story, but I never felt any connection to the characters or what was happening to them.

Historia
The galaxy’s worst bounty hunter just might be its most relentless hero. Esper Richelieu is a wizard with a mission: To make the galaxy a better place one lost soul at a time. Donning the trappings of an interstellar bounty hunter, she delves into the galaxy’s underworld to search out those most in need of help. Whether it’s a teenage runaway or an actor kidnapped by cultists, the victim comes first. Money is an afterthought. That confuses a lot of clients. But sometimes the best way to get someone to accept the help they need is to convince them to pay for it.

It's alright.
Revisado: 07-19-24
I liked the audiobook at first, but I soon became bored with the story. I wasn't really invested by the end of it. I probably won't continue with any more of the series.

Historia
It’s easy to get disheartened when your planet has been blown up, the woman you love has vanished due to a misunderstanding about space/time, the spaceship you are on crashes on a remote and Bob-fearing planet, and all you have to fall back on are a few simple sandwich-making skills. However, instead of being disheartened, Arthur Dent makes the terrible mistake of starting to enjoy life a bit–and immediately all hell breaks loose.

I loved the first book, but the series didn't hold up for me
Revisado: 04-06-24
I can't recommend this audiobook. I'm sure there are fans that might enjoy it, but I found it to be really boring. the jokes were no longer funny and I didn't care about the characters anymore. I thought about turning it off many times and probably should have.

Horrible narration of a basic and boring audiobook
Revisado: 02-27-24
I don't recommend this audiobook. The writing is very basic and not very enjoyable. The author is horrible, some of his pronunciations are wrong. Skip it!

In Volume 2 of Arabian Nights we return to Sultan Shahriyar’s palace where Scheherezade is using her spellbinding storytelling abilities to save both her and her sister’s lives. As much as the Sultan wants to kill her, each night he is drawn in by her tales and spares them. Scheherezade weaves a long, winding and exciting tale about Sinbad the Sailor, a reckless young man who has inherited his father’s wealth and spends it foolishly. His debts eventually force him to leave Baghdad and find his way alone.

Skip it. It gets annoying by the end
Revisado: 12-15-23
I would recommend finding a different version of these stories. There are only 3 stories that she tells and I only enjoyed the first one of Ali Baba. The other ones really annoyed me. I was hoping they would get better, but this audiobook wasn't written for a full cast. They have to explain what is happening and the actors seem to think that shouting it's good acting, but it just makes it more annoying.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

Unlikeable hero & read slowly, without emotion.
Revisado: 11-09-23
I would not recommend this audiobook. I give it 1 star for giving a perspective of pre-Taliban Afghanistan. Otherwise I found it painfully torturous and would give it zero stars.
The narration is dull and lacks any emotional inflection. I couldn't stand the narration. I tried to start the audiobook 3 different times and I finally forced myself to listen through to the end because this audiobook kept popping up in my recommendations and on various best books lists.
I played it at 1.5-2x the normal speed depending on how annoyed I was with the story and writing. I was hoping that finishing the story would at least give me a satisfying ending, but that didn't happen either. I would pass on this audiobook!

I use certain audiobooks to distract me while I'm multitasking so I don't get distracted and overthink things. Really good audiobooks are too engaging for this type of multitasking.
I didn't think this was a great book, but it was perfect for being slightly interesting and entertaining, but also not too engaging.

The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

The second half was bad writing and lost me.
Revisado: 07-08-23
I enjoyed the first book and I like many of the books written by this author, but this book wasn't very good for me.
It started off alright, but maybe the publisher called and pushed the author, because the ending is really bad and I lost all interest by the time it was over.
Overall it felt like it was written by a nerdy, pubescent boy who wanted to write a story where he was the antihero who is not only a genius in hiding, but also more adept than an elite team of classified Marines.
I don't recommend this book.
