Historia
Beau was devastated. After the worst day of his life, Caleb, the kindhearted and beautiful man he loved, had left him for good. Beau was now at the end of his rope - and the bottom of his last bottle. With trouble following him everywhere he went, he guessed it was only a matter of time before he turned into his messed-up dad, alone and yearning for a love he foolishly let slip through his fingers.

This was HEAVY. Alcohol/Addiction trigger warning
Revisado: 03-04-25
I love his books. And this one was just as well written and read as the others. There is a trigger warning at the beginning of the book, but I don't know that it was quite strong enough. It doesn't address the strength of the emotional portrayal of the results of addiction. This book is excellent, don't get me wrong. But it is emotionally HEAVY in a way his other books haven't been. Just an fyi.

Memoirs of a Geisha meets the Wheel of Time
Revisado: 01-29-23
Imagine a series where The Wheel of Time mated with Japanese Geisha and Bushido culture. That might get you close. The world the author has created is colorful and engaging. The description is detailed but not pedantic. The characters are sympathetic and make you want to learn more about them and their lives. My one real complaint is that the two narrators don't pronounce things the same, like city/country names or the names of royalty. Despite a few flubs in that way, the narration is very good and paid well worth the characters. All around, some of the best books I've read in years!

Historia
Gay werewolves in Victorian London? Why yes, yes there are.
Biffy, newly minted Alpha of the London Pack, is not having a good Christmas. His Beta abandoned him, his werewolves object to his curtain choices, and someone keeps leaving babies on his doorstep.
Professor Randolph Lyall returns home to London after 20 years abroad, afraid of what he might find. With his pack in chaos and his Alpha in crisis, it will take all his Beta efficiency to set everything to rights. Perhaps, in the process, he may even determine how to mend his own heart.

Biffy and his Professor
Revisado: 01-24-23
This is a lovely story! I adore how Ms. Carriger has brought the stories in her series' to a close with these individual novels. For those of us who become really attached to characters, it's nice to know how things pan out for them. And Biffy is an absolute favorite of mine.

It will break your heart,
Revisado: 07-01-22
but it is completely worth it. This event should never be forgotten and this performance gives a voice to those that were lost. But be sure to have tissue close, because what these families went through is horrific and you will feel it.

Truly excellent in every way. I love the Galaxy's Edge books, and these are like those books did the dirty with some D&D manuals and had beautiful, beautiful baby books.
