Historia
On the outskirts of town hides a secret. If you follow a path through the trees, read the rules (always twice) on the sign post, go up a hill and across a grassy clearing, that secret will reveal itself. You see, for hundreds of years, this seemingly normal town has kept the balance. But on this day, a rule will be broken. You might have heard the rumors shared in whispers. You may have been told about someone who’d seen it with their own eyes. But now, on this day, you’ll join us. You’ll see just what the town’s been hiding, protecting for centuries.

Coming of age story that reminds me of “the Giver” by Lois Lowry, but with much darker undertones. Highly recommend.

Historia
You're home making dinner for your husband. You expect him any second. The phone rings - it's the call you hoped you'd never get. You jump in your car and race to a neighborhood you thought you'd never visit. You peer into the dark, deserted building. You brace yourself for the worst. And then, you remember nothing else. They tell your husband you've been in an accident. You lost control of your car as you sped through the worst side of town. The police suspect you were up to no good. But your husband refuses to believe it.

I absolutely loved this book. Many elements were predictable but many were not! As a huge fan of mystery/thriller, I highly recommend this to others who enjoy this genre.
