Out with a whimper not a bang.

While his description of the events seemed factual, his editorializing of the post war political events detracted from the enjoyment of the book. I enjoyed the previous volumes very much. Now, I wonder if he was always editorializing and I just didn’t notice.

Nice follow up with the Outland story. Distracting narration.

Nice continuation of the story with the characters we invested in with the first book. Tone felt like the second Bob-I-verse book. Ray Porter changed the voices, which was distracting. Kevin lost his accent, and Richard’s voice wasn’t so deep. He seemed to mix up the voices at different times. Not his best narration.

Good, but not great. The last three Scot Harvath books have been better. Harvath solo with only cameo appearances from the rest of the Carlton Group characters. Good cop banter between VJ and JJ, but not enough highlights to make it to the top of the Brad Thor hit list.

A typical campus novel. Interesting plot, familiar characters, a few doors kicked in, scheming foreigners. It's not Cardinal of the Kremlin, but the real Tom Clancy is gone.

Tom Clancy is turning over in his grave. Unbelievibly boring. All set up and no action. Nothing happens hour after hour. Lots of confusing names and places and history lessons of the Balkans. Tom Clancy never would have written something this bad. Scott Brick did a great job narrating this and not falling asleep in the studio.

It begins with a family dinner in Princeton, New Jersey. After months at sea, US Navy Commander Scott Hagan, captain of the USS James Greer, is on leave when he is attacked by an armed man in a crowded restaurant. Though severely wounded, the gunman reveals he is a Russian whose brother was killed when his submarine was destroyed by Commander Hagan's ship. Hagan demands to know how the would-be assassin knew his exact location, but the man dies before he says more.
