Historia
"That book. It was about two women, and they fell in love with each other." And then Lily asked the question that had taken root in her, that was even now unfurling its leaves and demanding to be shown the sun: "Have you ever heard of such a thing?" Seventeen-year-old Lily Hu can't remember exactly when the question took root, but the answer was in full bloom the moment she and Kathleen Miller walked under the flashing neon sign of a lesbian bar called the Telegraph Club. America in 1954 is not a safe place for two girls to fall in love, especially not in Chinatown.

I couldn’t keep the smile off my face listening to this sweet collection of three Christmas stories.
Kirt Graves’ narration was perfection, as always, and made the stories come to life in the best possible way.

Historia
In Oceanport, New England's most gossipy small town, people wonder about Griff. Such a cute omega can't possibly be satisfied without a proper mate they say. Yet he'll be 30 soon and as far as they know he's never been with anyone! The truth is that Griff has given up on finding love...that is until his childhood best friend moves back to town and sets his heart on fire. When Dean's firefighter career is sidetracked by a tragic accident, returning to his roots to mend seems like a good move. It gives him a chance to breathe, as well as a chance to reconnect with his oldest friend.

The Vignes twin sisters will always be identical. But after growing up together in a small, Southern black community and running away at age 16, it's not just the shape of their daily lives that is different as adults, it's everything: their families, their communities, their racial identities. Ten years later, one sister lives with her black daughter in the same Southern town she once tried to escape. The other secretly passes for white and her white husband knows nothing of her past.

A superbly written and narrated novel.
Revisado: 06-14-20
The Vanishing Half is one of the most thought provoking novels I’ve listened to in a very long time. At this point in history I think it’s a must read/listen. It is a beautifully written story that left this reader deeply moved. It is at times heartbreaking, but it also leaves you hopeful given the strength and resilience of its characters. This story will stay with me always.
The narration was superb.

Historia
Sydney Detective August Shaw has spent the last decade of work solving cold cases. His work is his entire life, and he's convinced a string of unsolved cold-case suicides are linked to what could be Australia's worst ever serial killer. Problem is, no one believes him. Senior Constable Jacob Porter loves his life in the small town of Tallowwood in northern New South Wales. When human remains are found in the camping grounds at Tallowwood Reserve, Jake's new case turns out to be linked to August's cold cases, and Jake agrees they're not suicides at all.

Tallowood is a riveting murder mystery that will keep you guessing throughout. I adore the gruff guy matched with a ray of sunshine partner and Nr Walker delivered this within a superbly written thriller.
Antony Ferguson did an excellent job of voicing the characters without resorting to stereotypical accents.

A wonderfully story of hope and found family.
Revisado: 03-24-20
The House in the Cerulean Sea is a masterpiece that is a simply perfect read in these uncertain times. It’s themes revolve around acceptance, inclusivity, love and found family. It is a story for adults as much as it is for children twelve and above. There is much to learn here and much to be taught. I adored every beautifully written word and the narration was spectacular. The narrator’s choice of voices are perfection and delightfully highlighted each characters personality.
I can not recommend this novel and audiobook more highly.

Historia
Brian King was honorably discharged from the United States Navy five years ago. He'd left with the highest honors a man can receive in his country, but he'd paid the ultimate price to earn them. He'd returned home with all his limbs, his right mind, and with his only brother Ford, at his side. But, one thing had been lost, maybe for good...his voice. Now, being a bounty hunter is Brian's only means to satisfy his need to calculate, track, and capture. He missed companionship, he missed communicating.

Historia
Alfie Bell is . . . fine. He's got a six-figure salary, a penthouse in Canary Wharf, the car he swore he'd buy when he was 18, and a bunch of fancy London friends. It's rough, though, going back to South Shields now that they all know he's a fully paid-up pansy. It's the last place he's expecting to pull. But Fen's gorgeous, with his pink-tipped hair and hipster glasses, full of the sort of courage Alfie's never had. It should be a one-night thing, but Alfie hasn't met anyone like Fen before.

Revisado: 03-11-20
Alexis Hall has a unique and wonderful gift. There isn’t a story he’s written that hasn’t totally engaged me and made me fall in love with his characters. There’s a realism to his writing that touches the reader with the simple beauty and frailty of the MC’s.
Cornell Colons does a superb job in bringing these characters to life. I felt like I was overhearing the conversations and was completely immersed in their world.
A wonderful love story beautifully told.

Unputdownable.
Revisado: 02-29-20
Foxe Tail is one of those stories that grabs you from the very beginning and doesn’t let go. The combination of Haley Walsh’s storytelling and Joel Leslie’s voice acting is utterly addictive.
I adored Skylar and his band of merry misfits. Keith was intriguing and I can’t wait for more on him in the next instalment! FYI you won’t be able to stop at book one. It’s not exactly a cliff hanger but more there’s still things you have to know....
Joel Leslie has been a favourite of mine since I discovered the joys of audiobooks. He is so much more than a narrator. He embodies every character perfectly and moves between voices and accents with apparent ease. Clearly this takes enormous voice acting skill but Joel makes it seem effortless.

Historia
Queeny cocktail waiter Lionel wakes up to find himself in bed with Dog, a straight-acting softball player, and the two embark on a rocky road to romance. A journey that requires coming out of the closet, going into the closet, a pair of red high heels, many pairs of red high heels, a failed intervention, a couple of aborted dates, and homemade pom-poms. Mostly, Lionel and Dog learn what it means to be a man.

A great comedy/romance with a message.
Revisado: 02-19-20
Lionel is a fabulously funny femme bar tender who, with the brilliance of Joel Leslie’s voice acting, had me laughing out loud within the first minutes of listening to this book.
Dog is still in the closet at home and has always been able to pass as straight, although he is out to his friends. Hooking up with someone as in your face as Lionel would not be something he’d contemplate sober.
Love has a way of breaking down barriers but it won’t happen if Dog can’t accept Lionel, sequins and all.
I loved that the author used humour and a fabulous storyline to address this very real issue of judgement within and between the gay community. You don’t have to be gay to understand judgement based on appearance, however, and this is a book most people could relate to.
A fabulously engaging story with lots of humour combined with the brilliance of Joel Leslie made this a wonderful listening experience.
