War is hell. Bureaucracy and stupidity make it worse.
Revisado: 07-17-24
Brilliantly written, though unnecessarily long. Unbelievable how much pain and suffering occurred in an attempt to capture a totally useless island. Scary to read about so much antisemitism. Reading this book makes me feel like I was on that island myself. War is hell.

Best-selling author of The Millionaire Next Door and The Millionaire Mind and leading authority on the wealthy, Dr. Thomas Stanley uncovers the truth that few people become rich by way of a high income, and even fewer high-income people are truly rich. The good news is that almost anyone can become wealthy - even without a super high income. Just stop acting...and instead start living like a rich person.

Repetitive
Revisado: 08-20-22
I've read most of Dr. Stanley's books and this one is just a repeat of everything he's said before. I did not finish it, so perhaps I missed some new material.

Historia
In 1912, scientist Marie Curie spent two months on the British seaside at the home of Hertha Ayrton, an accomplished mathematician, inventor, and suffragette. At the time, Curie was in the throes of a scandal in France over her affair with Paul Langevin, which threatened to overshadow the accomplishment of her second Nobel Prize. Performed by Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany at the Minetta Lane Theatre, this play by Lauren Gunderson is an ode to two remarkable women.

An accessible biography of Marie Curie
Revisado: 02-06-20
This was a wonderful albeit short theatrical performance of a pivotal period in Marie Curie's life. It is an easy introduction into her complicated life. It makes me want to read a complete biography of one of the greatest scientists in modern time.

Historia
On a top-secret dive into the Pacific Ocean's deepest canyon, Jonas Taylor found himself face-to-face with the largest and most ferocious predator in the history of the animal kingdom. The sole survivor of the mission, Taylor is haunted by what he's sure he saw but still can't prove exists-Carcharodon megalodon, the massive mother of the great white shark. The average prehistoric Meg weighs in at twenty tons and could tear apart a Tyrannosaurus rex in seconds.

This audio book seems to be of a second edition. I listened to the audio and then read the original 1997 book and they do not match. The stories are very similar but it appears to have been updated.

Best Leadership Instruction Book Ever
Revisado: 09-18-18
My military husband recommended this book, saying it was a great guide to the fundamentals of leadership. He was right. Whether you run a platoon, a scout troop, a household, or a boardroom, this is a valuable resource. Read it, study it, then read it again. Well worth your time.
