Historia
Thirteen hundred gates have opened to solar systems around the galaxy. But as humanity builds its interstellar empire in the alien ruins, the mysteries and threats grow deeper. In the dead systems where gates lead to stranger things than alien planets, Elvi Okoye begins a desperate search to discover the nature of a genocide that happened before the first human beings existed and to find weapons to fight a war against forces at the edge of the imaginable. But the price of that knowledge may be higher than she can pay.

Really Like This Series
Revisado: 05-18-19
I continue to enjoy this series. It is not often that an author ( or authors) can sustain a story arch through so many books. I also appreciate the narration. The characters are voiced with their own inflections and cadence. It is done without being overbearing, a talent I appreciate after hearing other narrators do it less aptly.

Historia
FBI agent Patti Rogers finds herself paired with the unpopular former agent on a task force investigating the killing of Supreme Court Justice Henry Venter. Reeder - nicknamed "Peep" for his unparalleled skills at reading body language - makes a startling discovery while reviewing a security tape: the shooting was premeditated, not a botched robbery. Even more chilling, the controversial Venter may not be the only justice targeted for death.

Does this sound natural?
Revisado: 05-11-19
I enjoyed the story. The mystery was engaging and the characters interesting. But I found the voicing of the characters distracting, especially female and southern parts. I felt the narrator was trying to hard.

Historia
As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell - and trimonite, the hardest material known to man. When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating and waiting for suitable prey.

Ripley - Believe it or not
Revisado: 01-03-19
I was pleasantly surprised by this story. It kept within canon of the movies. WTG. Voice actors did a good job. Could have used a bit less witty banter and expository computer. But overall a nice diversion.

Historia
Books about the Kennedys are legion. Yet missing until now has been the exploration of the bond between Jack and Bobby, and the part that it played in their rise and fall. Richard D. Mahoney gives us Jack and Bobby in all their hubris and humanity, youthfulness and fatalism. Here is American history as it unfolds. The Kennedy Brothers is a fresh and masterful account of the men whose legacy continues to hold the American imagination.

Opened My Eyes to the Present
Revisado: 03-25-16
A cool, factual history of the Kennedys. Yet because of the men and the time they inhabited, an engaging story. The aura of Camelot is peeled back so that we can see the players, with their faults and also their heroism. A reminder that 50 years later, we still deal with the same issues.
