Historia
New York, 1888. Gas lamps still flicker in the city streets, but the miracle of electric light is in its infancy. The person who controls the means to turn night into day will make history - and a vast fortune. A young untested lawyer named Paul Cravath, fresh out of Columbia Law School, takes a case that seems impossible to win. Paul's client, George Westinghouse, has been sued by Thomas Edison over a billion-dollar question: Who invented the lightbulb and holds the right to power the country?

Surprisingly good
Revisado: 12-20-19
I thought I would not really enjoy this book. I was wrong! Moore made history interesting, of course with some fictions added in to spice it up a little.

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

Guys, don't. Just don't.
Revisado: 01-26-19
As an average Joe, I hope my review can help a few guys like me. Even if you loved Gone Girl, don't get this book. Just don't!
I find myself tuned out at least a third of the time as the story drags on and on. The flowery language is good, for the first 10 minutes, then it puts me to sleep. The emotions it tries to stirred up just doesn't work. I debated multiple time to just stop listening but still finished it. The ending is nothing earth-shattering and I could probably do without.

Historia
Masters of Doom is the amazing true story of the Lennon and McCartney of video games: John Carmack and John Romero. Together, they ruled big business. They transformed popular culture. And they provoked a national controversy. More than anything, they lived a unique and rollicking American Dream, escaping the broken homes of their youth to produce the most notoriously successful game franchises in history - Doom and Quake - until the games they made tore them apart. This is a story of friendship and betrayal, commerce and artistry.

Great book
Revisado: 12-21-18
I am a casual gamer and I knew little about the history before this book. This book really surprised me and pulled me in. I admire the author's good storytelling skills and Wil Wheaton was perfect for this book.

Three audiobooks from the Coilhunter Chronicles: Coilhunter, Rustkiller, and Dustrunner. Welcome to the Wild North, a desolate wasteland where criminals go to hide - if they can outlast the drought and the dangers of the desert. Or the dangers of something else.

I didn't know I would like this genre until I finished with book 1. Author painted a pretty crazy world and the actions were great.

Historia
Joseph Colsco has survived what many would not have - cast naked on an alien planet amidst humans speaking an unknown language and with a different culture and history. Now, known to the people of Caedellium as Yozef Kolsko, he has risen out of despair to prominence and finds himself a central figure in the culmination of a struggle against an imperialist power bent on subjugation. The clans of the Island of Caedellium must gird themselves for what is to come.

Still enjoyed it
Revisado: 12-02-18
It is still a great story, but I wish Thorensen could have handled the "wifes" part with more sensitivity. It can be done without causing all the negatives you see in other reviews. I am not saying if he should or should not do it. I cringed during that chapter and subsequent rehashes. I would have given it another 5 stars if not for this downer.

Historia
The year is 2108, and the North American Commonwealth is bursting at the seams. For welfare rats like Andrew Grayson, there are only two ways out of the crime-ridden and filthy welfare tenements: You can hope to win the lottery and draw a ticket on a colony ship settling off-world...or you can join the service. With the colony lottery a pipe dream, Andrew chooses to enlist in the armed forces for a shot at real food, a retirement bonus, and maybe a ticket off Earth.

Where is the story?
Revisado: 11-25-18
I kept waiting for the real story to begin, and then it ended. It may work to kill some time, but I wouldn't pick this book if time is valuable to you.

Historia
Sometimes the worst storms aren't from Mother Nature, and sometimes the worst nightmares aren't the ones in our heads. Mike Mitchell, an average New Yorker already struggling to keep his family together, suddenly finds himself fighting just to keep them alive when an increasingly bizarre string of disasters starts appearing on the world's news networks. As both the real world and the cyber world come crashing down, bending perception and reality, a monster snowstorm cuts New York off from the world, turning it into a wintry tomb where nothing is what it seems.

Meh...
Revisado: 11-23-18
Working in the technology field, I find the story is just too far-fetched. The protagonist is lacking any interesting qualities and not at all likable. I also agree with another reviewer that "[t]he story felt like the author had a list of facts he was trying to force into a story."

16 hours flew by
Revisado: 11-12-18
I usually prefer the plot to move quickly and not dwell on small things, but somehow this book got me to enjoy every little things it described. Besides a little more fluff than book one, the whole story is so fascinating and time flew by. Well, no point stopping now, off to book 3. #FeelGood #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Started a little slow, ends with a bang!
Revisado: 11-06-18
It started a little slow to build up the story, but the last three hours was totally worth the wait! I was a little annoyed with the author repeating the title "the gods of guilt" over and over again, he is usually subtle but the art is a little lost in this one.
