Historia
Don Brown, a former US Navy JAG officer stationed at the Pentagon and a former special assistant United States attorney, re-creates the wartime action, tells the life stories of the elite warriors our nation lost on that day and tears apart the official military explanation of the incident contained in the infamous Colt Report, which reveals either gross incompetence or a massive cover-up.

If you listen to the book, you’ll understand the title. Wonderful and compelling information. The narrator voice on the other hand was very radio like.

Historia
David L. Robbins, author of the war classic War of the Rats, delivers another heart-stopping, deeply researched military adventure, this time right off today’s front pages. The US military’s most highly trained and elite unit is the US Air Force pararescuers, known as PJs. All battle-hardened vets, their motto is "That Others May Live". Their singular mission is CSAR: Combat Search and Rescue. But, off the Horn of Africa, one PJ unit is tasked with a desperate assignment that goes against its oath: Take down a cargo ship full of secrets that’s been captured by Somali pirates.

Not captivating
Revisado: 10-17-23
I’ve listened to 3 chapters so far. The narrator is very monotone, like he should be reading a old historic book about Theodore Roosevelt or someone building some sort of business empire. I really try to stay away from books that aren’t read by the author and this book is a prime example. I’m going to try and return this book and get something else.

Two dozen Navy SEALs descended on Osama bin Laden’s compound in May 2011. After the mission, only one name was made public: Cairo, a Belgian Malinois and military working dog. This is Cairo's story, and that of his handler, Will Chesney, a SEAL Team Operator whose life would be irrevocably tied to Cairo's.

Amazing
Revisado: 12-02-22
Listening to this story you can’t help but be pulled into the unbelievable story and temperament of Cairo. Deep down inside, you know the end result of the story as Will Chesney states in this book. It doesn’t ease any of the emotions such as happiness, laughter, and sadness of an amazing military working dog and his handlers life are brought to light for the average American citizen.
Thank you for your service Cairo, Will, and every service member four legged or not…..

Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

Own your life’s story
Revisado: 07-30-22
I loved the story line. The complete story line, from childhood stories to successes, failures, change and the life lessons learned each step of the way. This book is happy, sad, chilling, frustrating, courageous all packed into one. Many autobiographies can be self fulfilling, but this isn’t. It’s about owning your short coming’s and moving on too be better.

I could not finish the book. The message is the same for many other books just like it the cadence of the reader is not normal and almost sounds condescending.

Historia
Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell returned from his star-crossed mission in Afghanistan with his bones shattered and his heart broken. So many had given their lives to save him-and he would have readily done the same for them. As he recuperated, he wondered why he and others, from America's founding to today, had been willing to sacrifice everything-including themselves-for the sake of family, nation, and freedom.

Southern draw
Revisado: 01-08-21
I just couldn’t listen and get over the what seemed to be the super exaggerated southern draw. Lone survivor was great, this is why I tried the second book by Marcus Latrell. I’m starting to like books that are actually read by the authors over books that are read by someone else. They just seem to be more genuine. To be completely honest I got about 30 minutes into the book, I tried to push past the narrators draw.

There are special forces. There are US Navy SEALs. There is the select and secretive group of highly trained operators known as SEAL Team Six or MOB VI as they like to call it. And then there is Justin Sheffield. When it comes to talking about the most experienced, effective, and deadly warriors in the world, Sheffield is part of an exclusive group that can be counted on one hand. This audiobook is uncompromising, raw, violent, and real.

Fast read /listen
Revisado: 12-12-20
I listened to this book in 2, 2 hour chunks. Listening to Justin tell his story was riveting. It was like listening to a family member tell this story around a camp fire. The pace, cadence, and story line was refreshing from most other books.
This is the second book that has mentioned electric brain therapy and how well it works for TBI and PTS. Thank you to all who have served. I hope everyone that needs help gets help, including the wives who stay at home and and raise their families.

Historia
As a senior non-commissioned officer of Delta Force, the most elite and secretive special operations unit in the US military, Command Sergeant Major Tom Satterly fought some of this country's most fearsome enemies. Tom is a legend even among other Tier One special operators. Yet the enemy that cost him three marriages, and ruined his health physically and psychologically, existed in his brain. Told through Satterly's firsthand experiences, it also weaves in the reasons for his career-long battle against the most insidious enemy of all: post-traumatic stress.

Great eye opening book.
Revisado: 12-01-20
This book starts out hard and fast. Filled with military deployment story after story. It’s interesting to hear about how the elite tier 1 operators train around the world. It sprinkles in some talk about PTS but then right back to an exciting story... then it kicks you in the chest as hard as ever. Talking about how PTS affects our warriors and their fight against invisible scars, drinking, drugs, and suicide. To every veteran out there, thank you for your service and dedication. To their wives and significant others I never thought about your trauma and for that I’m sorry for not thinking about the other half that’s has to deal with the grief as well. Thank you as well!!
