Great Read Especially For Anyone That Grew Up on Blink!
Revisado: 05-06-25
I really enjoyed this especially having grown up on Blink 182. It’s very interesting to hear all the backstory behind the band before they became the Tom Mark and Travis show. Highly recommend and surprisingly uplifting at times.

Historia
The need to understand what top-performing reps are doing that their average performing colleagues are not drove Matthew Dixon, Brent Adamson, and their colleagues at Corporate Executive Board to investigate the skills, behaviors, knowledge, and attitudes that matter most for high performance. And what they discovered may be the biggest shock to conventional sales wisdom in decades.

Great read for both sales reps and sales leaders
Revisado: 07-15-24
A worthwhile read for all sales reps and sales leaders. It won’t apply to all, but there are takeaways for each individual and things that can be applied at various levels within any sales organization. This is not a one size fits all type of approach and can easily be misinterpreted to be an aggressive approach - all the more reason to fully understand how it applies to your sales process/organization before using it.

Interesting High Level View on Leadership Qualities
Revisado: 06-02-24
Interesting perspective on various qualities that definitely apply to leadership at any level, but also qualities that ideal employees embody. Some of the people used as examples were interesting and suggest a mildly political undertone with specific leaders that have questionable pasts, but overall interesting read with a variety of takeaways.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Chronic complainers, no accountability finger-pointers, or learning-resistant laggards—these culture-killers costs sales organizations more in productivity than being weak in the so-called hard skills of selling. Learn how emotional intelligence and the development of these critical soft skills improve sales leadership effectiveness and outperforms doubling down on more sales technology tools and fads. The missing link is in hiring for and developing emotional intelligence skills in sellers and sales leaders.

Insightful and sad, but very interesting especially if you were the right age during her rise to fame.
Revisado: 01-09-24
Insightful and sad, but very interesting especially if you were the right age during her rise to fame. Slow moving at times, but it’s also a look into a life that seemed to be very dark on the inside but hidden by a fabricated external image. When this gets made into a movie, it will be hard to watch. Hopefully karma catches up to those that did this to her.

Revisado: 11-27-23
This is a great story with many strong takeaways for starting a business. Whether you’re a fan of In n Out or not, it was an interesting insight into one of Southern California’s greatest businesses. Definitely recommend. I recommend listening at 1.3-1.4x as the delivery can feel a bit slow at times.

Author Thomas Erikson explains that there are four key behavior types that define how we interact with and perceive the people around us. Understanding someone’s pattern of behavior is the key to successful communication. Erikson breaks down the four kinds of behavior types - Reds who are dominant and commanding, Yellows who are social and optimistic, Greens who are laid-back and friendly, and Blues who are analytical and precise - and explains how to identify and interact with each type of person.

Interesting but Very Slow
Revisado: 10-09-23
I was very intrigued by this book given the topic and initially found it to be interesting. Shortly after starting I found myself losing focus due to the pace. I listened to this at 1.4x or 1.5x for nearly the entire book, and even sped up to that speed, it barely felt like a normal speaking pace. Parts are interesting, however, I felt it was quite repetitive at times. I think it could have been half as long and still made the same points, plus a quicker pace would have helped keep focus to ensure the points land.
