If you like merfolk romance, you’re bound to love this. The stories have a little bit of everything in them and, most importantly, a HEA. I have the collection on both eprint and audio. The audio is well done and read by Tamsin herself. Highly recommended.

Once again tried getting into another series from Susan. This one has been raved about on her Facebook fan page. I had hoped I would like it as well. Unfortunately, I have the same problem with this series as I did with a couple of her other ones. While I enjoyed the heroine and the humorous situations she got into, I didn’t like the hero and/or how the males of his species treated their females or their views on sex. Some readers might think the happenings in the story sexy, but I didn’t for the most part. I don’t dig men who can’t accept no for an answer and resort to extreme methods to get what they want. The story did keep me interested enough to finish and that’s why I gave it 3 stars. And I might go on to the next book to see if the male character development gets acceptable as it did in Susan’s Alliance series (which I love and really hope she continues). C/D+

Historia
He gambled and won something more valuable than money. He won love. It started off as a little R&R on a backwater planet. All Ruce Haulk wanted was a place where he could breathe some fresh air, have a stiff drink, and perhaps while away a few hours at a game of chance. He should have known better. Before he's aware, he's embroiled in the middle of a flesh-peddling scheme, and the woman he "wins" is someone he never expected to find.

Cute little sci-fi western. Really enjoyed it. Think of Space Rangers/Firefly. Narrator was good, so easy to listen to.

They found each other by accident. They became a team for life. When Clint Abrams of Bag It and Tag It Excursions is approached by representatives of JayMax Productions to film scenes in the swamp for a horror movie, he is intrigued. Both by the movie, whose subject hits a little too close to home, and by the tall, freckled redhead, Charlie Dupine. Clint can’t hide his feelings for Charlie, and the more time he spends with her, the more he knows she is his destiny.

I enjoyed the story. Likable characters and happy ending. Decent narrator if you listen to the audiobook. You don’t have to read the other stories in the series to get what’s going on, which is good because I didn’t see that this was the third book in the Subwoofers series when I downloaded the title. Now I plan to go read the others.

I really wanted to like this book, as I’ve enjoyed a lot of Susan’s stories, but I had a difficult time finishing it. As in some of her writings, I really liked the female characters. The males, not that much. Valdier men (much like the Kassis and Sarafin series) in this story came off as overbearing, dominating jerks that were lead by their genitalia rather than their brains whenever a female was around. By the end of the story I really didn’t care for the Valdier as a species and felt sorry for their woman. I’ll probably go on to the second book, just because I enjoyed Cara’s character in the first book and I hope the males decide to get their shit together and stop acting like rabid beasts in heat. C-

Halfway through this book I wasn’t sure I liked the story. Some events in it rubbed me the wrong way. In the end, decided it was a decent read. I enjoyed the supporting characters a lot and look forward to Viper’s Reluctant Mate. I think Grandma Pearl is a hoot.

Thea, you crammed so much storytelling into this novella and I loved it! You opened some awesome future story possibilities for the Elder Races, which is very exciting too. I look forward to see what’s in store. And a small part of me really hopes Stinkpot grows more slowly than his brother did, so the Pia and Dragos get to experience parenthood more fully this time around.

Okay, but not that good.
Revisado: 12-13-18
I love S.E. Smith’s Alliance series, so I figured I’d start it’s connected series Lords of Kassis. I can’t say I hated the first book, but I didn’t entirely like it either. The story was okay, but there was a plot hole that really needed explaining. And while I liked the female characters, the males were too Alpha for my liking. If you enjoy BDSM scenarios you’ll enjoy the love scenes. Conclusion, it’s okay but not as good as her other work.

Revisado: 01-24-18
I went into this story thinking it might not be something I usually read or liked and was pleasantly surprised that I did enjoy it. A bit like something you might see in a CW series, but that’s not a bad thing if you like new adult supernatural dramas. I’m hoping for another book from Danielle that goes more in depth about the dark magic side of the story and maybe gives Justin a happier chance at romance. ☺️
