Historia
Augusta Edelman—Gus to her friends—is a painter, a wife, and not always the best judge of her own choices—one of them bad enough that she and her husband, Owen, have fled their longtime city home and its reminders of troubling events. Now, three years into their secluded country life, Gus works daily on the marriage she nearly lost, discovers new inspiration for her art, and contemplates the mysteries of a childhood tragedy.

Put me to sleep.
Revisado: 09-03-14
Any additional comments?
The narrator's voice was nice, but the story seemed to drone on and on with too much introspection from the main character. If found myself getting sleepy while listening to it in the car. I felt that it was well written; just not my cup of tea.

Once again, Liane Moriarity didn't disappoint! I think this is her best one yet!! And the narrator didn't hurt; she was wonderful; really brought the characters to life!

Historia
In the frigid pre-dawn hours, in a distressed Midwestern city, hundreds of desperate unemployed folks are lined up for a spot at a job fair. Without warning, a lone driver plows through the crowd in a stolen Mercedes, running over the innocent, backing up, and charging again. Eight people are killed; fifteen are wounded. The killer escapes. Mr. Mercedes is a war between good and evil, from the master of suspense whose insight into the mind of this obsessed, insane killer is chilling and unforgettable.

King has gone too far!
Revisado: 07-22-14
What would have made Mr. Mercedes better?
Less raunch!
What could Stephen King have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Left out the raunch!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Mr. Mercedes?
The raunchy love scenes between the main antagonist and his mother!
Any additional comments?
I have read and enjoyed Stephen King for years but have noticed that he gets a little raunchier with each novel. This time he's gone too far. The explicit descriptions of the antagonists perverted mental problems and relationship with his mother were disgusting and unnecessary. King could have portrayed this man's failing mental state in a much more imaginative, less graphic way. I don't think I'll ever read King again!
