When a new disease turns people into sadistic, laughing killers, a light infantry battalion fights to maintain order in Boston. As infection spreads, the Army loses control, and the soldiers find themselves fighting the people they once swore to protect. As the country slides into violent collapse, the lost battalion learns the last bastion of the federal government is still holding out in Florida. Harry Lee, its commander, decides the only hope is to lead the survivors there.

The characters make the story
Revisado: 01-30-24
First off I thought this was just going to be another zombie apocalypse book. But, you hit the ground running with action and a new spin on the virus, the characters are all well developed in my opinion, and being a veteran I hate military books where the weapons and jargon are AFU. But, they definitely made sure that the military language, weapons and most importantly the crude humor and attitude of a warrior was well depicted. Throughout the story I felt as if I was right there with them and could totally relate to the characters and the feelings they had. Overall a great series and well worth the time to read or listen to.

Pretty good book
Revisado: 01-19-23
Overall the story was good and it kept you on your toes, the only downside is the narrator. George Guidall is very boring and doesn’t do much to give each character there own personality. But I’m a Scott Brick fan.

Not a bad story
Revisado: 01-06-23
This was not a bad book, it started off a little slow. However, it does pick up the narrator is ok, he’s definitely no Scott Brick who I really enjoy hearing. But overall a good experience and I may check out the rest of the series.

Revisado: 10-14-16
Once again another great book by Clive Cussler I've always been a big fan, of any Cussler book but I was worried about the Fargo adventures, but as usual I have been drawn into their world and can't stop.

Sam and Remi Fargo return for the thrilling third adventure in the acclaimed new series. In Spartan Gold and Lost Empire, Clive Cussler brought readers into the world of husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo, whose passion and instinct for treasure-hunting has led to extraordinary discoveries-and perilous journeys. Their next adventure, however, might be their most astonishing yet.

I absolutely enjoy any book by Clive Cussler, at first I was hesitant about this series but having read or listened to all the books in his other series, the Fargoes have reeled me in and I'm hooked, and I also enjoy Scott Brick's narrating he helps to keep the listener engaged.

Historia
Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell returned from his star-crossed mission in Afghanistan with his bones shattered and his heart broken. So many had given their lives to save him-and he would have readily done the same for them. As he recuperated, he wondered why he and others, from America's founding to today, had been willing to sacrifice everything-including themselves-for the sake of family, nation, and freedom.

Awesome book
Revisado: 09-16-15
I enjoyed listening to Marcus's story, he has been incredibly blessed. As a Navy veteran and having the honor and privilege of working with Navy SEALS, in the 90's it was interesting to see that side of the Navy, as it is not common place to hear much about the teams in the fleet. I recommend this book to anyone that wants to hear a great story and it was a honor to hear, it brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion and made my heart swell with pride that we have men that are willing and more than capable to do that job. Fair winds and following sea's to all that have gone down range and made the ultimate sacrifice.
