Historia
Just as patients are about to be released with a clean bill of health, their conditions take a devastating turn for the worse. Accompanied by the newest member of the Women's Murder Club, Yuki Castellano, Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer probes deeper into the incidents. Could these cases just be appalling coincidences? Or is a maniac playing God with people's lives? When someone close to the Women's Murder Club begins to exhibit the same frightening symptoms, Lindsay fears no one is safe.

Dorky
Revisado: 04-20-06
I can see how this book might be fun, but frankly I was turned off by how ridiculous it is. I found the clumsy writing and sterotypical characters distracting.

Historia
In Washington, D.C., where little stays secret for long, the identity of Deep Throat, the mysterious source who helped Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein break open the Watergate scandal in 1972, remained hidden for 33 years. Now, Woodward tells the story of his long, complex relationship with W. Mark Felt, the enigmatic No. 2 man in the Federal Bureau of Investigation who helped end the presidency of Richard Nixon.

Guess you had to be there
Revisado: 02-11-06
I was born during the Nixon administration. Of course I am familiar with the main issues of watergate, but that is about it. For those who were really around during the whole thing, maybe it is a very interesting trip down memory lane. For me this book was just kind of boring, and I usually like history books.

Historia
Sometimes in medicine the only way to know what is truly going on in a patient is to operate, to look inside with one's own eyes. This book is exploratory surgery on medicine itself, laying bare a science not in its idealized form but as it actually is - complicated, perplexing, and profoundly human.

Interesting and Entertaining
Revisado: 02-11-06
I was worried this book was going to be boring, but I really enjoyed it. The stories are interesting, and the author did a good job of arranging the topics, etc. I definitely recommend this one.

Historia
At the core of this book is an appalling double murder committed by two Mormon Fundamentalist brothers, Ron and Dan Lafferty, who insist they received a revelation from God commanding them to kill their blameless victims. Weaving the story of the Lafferty brothers and their fanatical brethren with a clear-eyed look at Mormonism's violent past, Krakauer examines the underbelly of the most successful homegrown faith in the United States, and finds a distinctly American brand of religious extremism.

Good writer, poor historian
Revisado: 04-24-05
This is a hard book to rate. Krakauer is a good writer. I think most people will find this book is both interesting and entertaining. However he had to stetch things quite a bit to support his basic thesis by using source material that seems to lack credibility.
If you want to know something about mormon history, this account is neither factually accurate nor balanced, so you'll want to look elsewhere for that.

Historia
In an age of unprecedented prosperity and opportunity, there are still many who feel that something is missing in their lives: "I've achieved success and am on the fast track in my career, I'm respected by my peers, I have a great family and all the toys and perks that I could possibly want. Why don't I feel a stronger sense of fulfillment? Why does life feel so empty?" In What Matters Most, best-selling author and speaker Hyrum W. Smith outlines compelling reasons for this dissatisfaction.

Boring. Not New
Revisado: 07-27-04
I'm surprised at the high ratings. Maybe if you've never listened to Stephen Covey, etc. then this material would seem new, but otherwise, this program doesn't say much and takes a long time to say it. Not only is there not much new stuff here, but the speaker is boring.
To me it seems he's just borrowed other people's ideas and expressed them in a slow, uninspiring way. Yuk.
