Excellent Storytelling

Excellent story yet again! I am definitely a fan of drama so the spy concept drew me in from the beginning. Mary and Rex were absolutely perfect together. He may have thought Arabella was the perfect wife for him in the past but Mary was obviously his sole mate. I loved how instead of having a typical ton marriage that fell in love instead.

Lovely Story, Terrible Narrator

The story was wonderful per usual for this series but it was the narrator that made it hard to get through. The Scottish “accent” didn’t sound like any accent really and the way all the feminine sighs, moans and dialogue were narrated were borderline insulting to women kind. Golden Angel is a wonderful storyteller so I would recommend on that alone but my advice would be to go for a physical book….

Excellent Story and Narration

I absolutely loved this story! Gabrielle quickly became my favorite character of all the books. The writing was wonderful. It brought me to tears several times. I could just feel Gabrielle’s pain. The narrator was much better than the last book that was for sure. I highly recommend this book for anyone with a DD romance novel obsession like me. A+++

The story was very enjoyable. I absolutely love Gabrielle even though she's a bit of a brat. The narrator though was awful. It was laughable at times just how awful. The unrealistic squeakiness whenever it was a woman's part of dialogue was a really odd caricature of what an actual woman sounds like. And the way he mispronounced the word viscount! I almost did a DNF solely bc of the narrator but I love Golden Angel so I persisted.

Let me start off by saying that I don't like cliffhangers. I like books that are all tied up by the end. That said, I absolutely didn't mind these ones! It was like one big story with all the characters instead of just focusing on one couple per book. Again, not something that I have ever liked but it was thoroughly enjoyable. I like to put on an audiobook while I craft and these kept my attention 100% of the time. The stories were very entertaining and everything I look for in a steamy historical romance with DD. I was a little disappointed that it ended. All in all, phenomenal writing and great narration.
