Historia
Matt Dahlia was a recent college grad with no direction in his life: his business was dead on arrival and all his friends had left town. He was broke and searching for belonging in a world that didn’t understand him. That is, until he serendipitously met Thomas, who not only felt the same way he did, but had a project in mind: Together, along with two more like-minded strangers, they were going to move into a one-bedroom apartment and film themselves doing 30 things they had never done before in 30 days.

Matt’s narration of this book is spectacular
Revisado: 12-15-23
I was enjoying the book *very much*, especially Matt’s narration, when all of a sudden it felt rushed. To go from the Will Smith bungee jump to Matt’s departure from YT seemed incredibly rushed. Matt’s backflip challenge gone awry seemed like a turning point in the YT journey and yet, not a word about it. That said, I can’t praise Matt’s work as a narrator enough. Perfect timing, intonation, delivery, etc. Bravo. Thomas is the one who usually narrates the videos so this side of Matt was new to some of us. If you like the YT’s videos you’ll enjoy this audiobook, too.

Contrary to what many people believe, we can recover from emotional trauma relatively quickly and completely on our own. Keep Pain in the Past explains a process that allows you to do most, if not all, of the recovery on your own. It will teach you the critical skill of treating psychological wounds and help you identify and face this pain and find closure on your own. Use Dr. Chris Cortman's easy-to-master method to remember, feel, express, release, and reframe the trauma that has been haunting you for years.

Helpful! But needs “trigger warning”
Revisado: 12-20-20
I found this book helpful and I very much liked the narration (I listened to the audiobook). That said, as it is a book likely to be read/listened to by those who’ve had a/many painful experience(s), some of the examples of the author’s patients’ stories are pretty heavy can trigger all sorts of things. I can’t stop thinking about one that was mentioned (girl in Vietnam) and may need some additional therapy sessions myself just to get over the mental picture of that story. This book NEEDS a “Trigger Warning”. Other than that, the book has helped me think about some experiences with a new perspective. (Hence, 5 stars Overall, 5 stars for Performance, and 4 stars for Story.)

Historia
From breakout stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger comes a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman's approach to friendship, singlehood, and relationships. "Girl Logic" is Iliza's term for the way women obsess over details and situations that men don't necessarily even notice. She describes it as a characteristically female way of thinking that appears to be contradictory and circuitous but is actually a complicated and highly evolved way of looking at the world.

LOVED it - hilarious & encouraging
Revisado: 07-11-19
I stumbled upon this book and thought “heck, why not, she was funny in her Netflix special”. And boy, am I now a HUGE Iliza fan! Her observations are **on point** but the best part is her performance/storytelling. She’s AMAZING and speaks to you like the voice in your head (well, especially if listening to it with earbuds—maybe that was Apple’s intention all along? Also, I just realized the voice in my head is that of a young, white, Jewish comedienne...and here I was, thinking it was that of my Latina mom). Quite possibly, my favorite audiobook so far (and I’m at “post-Scholar” level...if that means anything to anyone). Highly recommend it, you’ll love it.
