Historia
In The Preeminent Christ, Paul Washer declares the unmatched significance of the good news of Jesus Christ. Compelled by a desire for men to know God’s love, Washer draws from the church’s greatest theologians to herald Christ’s centrality in revelation, salvation, sanctification, study, proclamation, and glory. The Preeminent Christ will stimulate listeners to forsake their tendency to view worldly “needs” as central by zealously seeking this Christ in the gospel.

I really appreciated what Paul did here. Very comprehensive, deep and broad in a pretty short book. I'll listen to this over and over to keep my mind and heart centered on the Cornerstone.

Historia
For every celebrity pastor exiting the ministry in the spotlight, there are many more lesser-known pastors leaving in the shadows. Pastor and best-selling author Paul David Tripp argues that lurking behind every pastoral failure is the lack of a strong leadership community. Tripp draws on his decades of ministry experience to give churches twelve gospel principles necessary to combat this leadership crisis.

Historia
This book was originally published in 1997 during a time when Calvinistic Baptists were engaged in some fairly intense debates over the relationship between God's law and the gospel. Those debates continue, though--thankfully--in many respects, with greated clarity and charity than characterized some of those earlyier exchanges.

I found this to be an incredibly valuable resource that captures huge amounts of scripture and theology in a very accessible manner that was easy to listen too and digest. It's very rich in content and I know I'll be going back over it again and again. I'm also going to check out the authors other works as well.

Historia
For many Christians who've tried their hands at evangelism or have had to defend their faith, it can feel like doing PR work for God—limiting ourselves to a series of strategies and tactics. In The Faithful Apologist, Scott Oliphint provides a foundation for Christians to explain their faith in a welcoming manner that avoids any burden to "sell" Christianity to non-Christians. Drawing as much from the rich tradition of Western apologetics as from the wisdom of effective communication, this book bridges the gap between sharing the truth of our faith and the art of persuasion.

Very helpful
Revisado: 02-14-24
I had to read parts of this book several times to understand the approach he was taking. This is probably more to do with my unfamiliarity with classic, Artistotalian definitions of persuasion. Bit once I "got it" I find it to be an extremely useful and unique contribution to the arena of Presuppositional apologetics.

Had never heard of John Ritchie
Revisado: 09-18-21
We started a bible study at church on the tabernacle and I was looking for teaching resources and came upon Mr. Ritchie and his writings and I'm immensely pleased with them. He offers huge doses spiritual meaning and theology which I found both very helpful and beautiful. He really gave me the Why are we endeavoring to dig into this topic so much - well Ritchie gives us a lot of meat to chew on. He's also a fascinating man and missionary to read about too - a wonderful saint I look forward to meeting.

Historia
Do you feel discouraged, even defeated, in your battle against habitual sin? Elyse Fitzpatrick delves into the heart of the problem: deep down, we're all idol worshippers who put our loves, desires, and expectations in God's place - and then suffer the consequences of our misplaced affections. Yet God loves his people and can use even our messy lives and struggles for his glory. Fitzpatrick shows us how to better search and know our hearts, long for our gracious Savior, and resist and crush our false gods. Included are questions for further thought.

WOW!
Revisado: 08-27-21
I've been a Christian a long time and never read an exposition of idolatry like this. I'm actually somewhat stunned this level of depth on this topic isn't more commonly taught in basic discipleship classes?? It strikes me now as being fundamental and core to the Christian walk, which only makes sense since it is the 1st commandment...duh! Never put this kind of mi I'm going pursue walking through this with others in a small group.

Historia
What is meant by the "Great Tribulation?" Will the church endure the tribulation? Is the rapture a tenable belief? H.A. Ironside contrasts the judgment of God with salvation to determine the basis for the events of the future. He introduces biblical prophecy, connects to historical events, and offers an exhaustive biblical survey of the Great Tribulation. Most importantly, Ironside explains that the Great Tribulation differs from God's wrath or fury. Ultimately God’s judgment and wrath - and the events of the tribulation - are overcome by salvation and love.

succinct explanation of position
Revisado: 02-20-21
I liked this book because it's short and to the point. Some books on this subject are hundreds and hundreds of pages and hours and hours long. I wasn't familiar with Ironside but this little book is direct and packed with detailed scripture references on the subject of the rapture. I'm still developing my own understanding of the position and found this a very efficient resource for premillenialism.

"Over the last four decades, I've met one-on-one with thousands of men. Most of them know that Jesus promised "a rich and satisfying life" (John 10:10), but too many are confused about what that looks like. In fact, I'd estimate that 90 percent of Christian men lead lukewarm, stagnant, defeated lives—and they hate it. When men try to put into words what's holding them back, they invariably describe one or more of seven symptoms. But you can experience a powerful life transformed by Christ. I'll tell you how." Historia
America is great for a reason. Built on principles of freedom, rugged individualism, and self-sufficiency, no country has ever accumulated more power and wealth, abused it less, or used that power more to advance the human condition. And yet, as America blossomed, left-wing radicalism and resentment festered beneath the surface, threatening to undermine democracy in the form of social justice warriors, the deep state, and compromised institutions like academia and the mainstream media.
