Historia
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

Great Story. Okay ending
Revisado: 07-22-21
I loved this story. It was full of back to back page turner’s. However I was bummed with the final chapter. Would have loved to hear what happened to Mike and Jamie’s future with the new business.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

James Dommek Jr did an amazing job at telling this story. I enjoyed how he was able communicate like a real person. His method of story telling is original and beyond reproach. Thank you for taking the time to tell this story and the real life audio included within. I wasn't sure what to expect when I decided to listen, but I'm glad I took the chance.

Historia
On the morning of April 26, 1986, Europe witnessed the worst nuclear disaster in history: the explosion of a reactor at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Soviet Ukraine. Dozens died of radiation poisoning, fallout contaminated half the continent, and thousands fell ill. In Chernobyl, Serhii Plokhy draws on new sources to tell the dramatic stories of the firefighters, scientists, and soldiers who heroically extinguished the nuclear inferno. He lays bare the flaws of the Soviet nuclear industry....

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Good Story written badly.
Revisado: 02-12-19
I give credit to the author...I’ve never written a book, BUT if I did it would probably be written better than this one. I felt like I was listening to a 6yr old telling the story or reading a children’s book. The story line was good. It was compelling to read/listen about someone overcoming such adversity, overcoming so many obstacles and pushing their limits. Like I said, it was like listening to a child’s story. I think it could have been written better. I don’t necessarily blame the author, I blame the editor(s) and publishers for not requesting a better written story.

Historia
In February 1959, a group of nine experienced hikers in the Russian Ural Mountains died mysteriously on an elevation known as Dead Mountain. Eerie aspects of the incident—unexplained violent injuries, signs that they cut open and fled the tent without proper clothing or shoes, a strange final photograph taken by one of the hikers, and elevated levels of radiation found on some of their clothes—have led to decades of speculation over what really happened.

I got about an hour into this book and had to stop listening. The story is compelling but the narrator is AWFUL! I really wanted to finish this audiobook, but I couldn’t continue any further because. The author should stick to writing and leave the narrating to the other professionals.

Now Connors returns with the story of what drove him up to the tower in the first place: the wilderness years he spent reeling in the wake of a family tragedy. This is an unforgettable account of grappling with a shattered sense of purpose, from his family's failing pig farm in Minnesota to a crack-addled Brooklyn neighborhood to the mountains of New Mexico, where he puts the pieces of his life back together.

Soft core porn
Revisado: 01-22-19
I was pretty disappointed with this book. The description of the book is nearly false. While the book is well written, and discusses a POV from a person who experienced an unexpected loss in the family, there is more about sex in this book than a horribly written edition of Playboy magazine. Just, not what I was expecting.

Historia
On a sunny May morning in 1998 in Cortez, Colorado, three desperados in a stolen truck opened fire on the town cop, shooting him 20 times; then they blasted their way past dozens of police cars and disappeared into 10,000 square miles of the harshest wilderness terrain on the North American continent. Self-trained survivalists, the outlaws eluded the most sophisticated law enforcement technology on the planet and a pursuit force that represented more than 75 local, state, and federal police agencies with dozens of SWAT teams, U.S. Army Special Forces....

Exceptional but not amazing
Revisado: 01-15-19
The story jumps around a lot and can sometimes make it difficult to follow towards the climax of the book. The narrator sounds like he’s trying really hard for a Don LaFontaine sound. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I didn’t know about this story so it was good to get educated. The writer did a good job at conducting its research. If the book didn’t jump around so much and the narrator was different I would have given it 5 stars.

Hardly were the last shots fired at the Alamo before the Texas Revolution entered the realm of myth and controversy. French visitor Frederic Gaillardet called it a "Texian Iliad" in 1839, while American Theodore Sedgwick pronounced the war and its resulting legends "almost burlesque."

For decades The One Minute Manager has helped millions achieve more successful professional and personal lives. While the principles it lays out are timeless, our world has changed drastically since the book's publication. The exponential rise of technology, global flattening of markets, instant communication, and pressures on corporate workforces to do more with less - including resources, funding, and staff - have all revolutionized the world in which we live and work.
