Historia
By any measure, Byron Janis has had an extraordinary musical career. His discovery of two long-lost Chopin scores made headlines around the world, and he has been honored many times for his breathtaking performances of some of the most exciting and challenging works in the standard classical piano repertoire. As he retraces this remarkable journey in Chopin and Beyond, he shares something even more extraordinary: the other-worldly experiences that have shaped his life and music in profound ways.

Well read and very interesting listen. My two favorite subjects, music and the other world meant that my attention was caught from beginning to end. Its funny how musicians tend to be more open to forces and unusual happenings than the average person on the street, maybe that is why they make good musicians.... Anyway, I hadn't heard of Byron Janis but something drew me to the audio book and I really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Historia
A shy only child, Nigel John Taylor wasn't an obvious candidate for pop stardom and frenzied girl panic. But when he ditched his first name and picked up a bass guitar, everything changed. John formed Duran Duran with his friend Nick Rhodes in the spring of 1978, and they were soon joined by Roger Taylor, then Andy Taylor and finally Simon Le Bon. Together they were an immediate, massive global success story, their pictures on millions of walls, every single a worldwide hit. In his frank, compelling autobiography, John recounts the highs and the lows.

Aswell as being a very entertaining listen, this book gives an insight into the beginnings of Duran Duran and also the music scene at the time which is interesting to hear in itself. John Taylor has done a great job.
