the massive amounts of racism turned me off this series

the fact that he is having to play nice with racists and the word/rhetoric used made me not be able to finish this book and I will not be reading anymore of this series

Very good opening book to a new urban fantasy series and very strong for a first time author. I would highly recommend giving it a try. I love that one of the "curses" used by one of the main characters is "puppy dogs tails"

must read for urban fantasy fans

Any book where the bad guy is a human trafficker and they get their just desserts is s good book to me. It is a terrible issue our world has and is so vastly overlooked and the amount of victim blaming is just so tragic. Kevin did a wonderful job explaining the issue and causes. i hope the main characters keep screwing over the traffickers they find in future books.
note: while this book is set in iron druid world you 100% don't need to have read that series.

this is a fun rpglit book. the author has a flare for quick puns that aren't all groaners. for a character focused on book it has a good amount of action.
