Good book, more about the journey
Revisado: 05-27-23
this is a hard one to review. not because it's a bad book, I really enjoyed it, it's just different than what I was used to from a 40k novel.
I've read mostly space marine books, a few of the real crime and investigative hive world books, and this book definitely sits in a different genre than what I've read before.
there is so much focus on how the characters are feeling and their internal struggles. now I know what you're saying, it's a book, not a movie, they have to describe it. But That's why I say this book is more about the journey, they do a lot of giving you an insight into how the character is feeling, on every step of the journey. It's a lot about the internal monologue that the characters are having, why they are doing what they're doing and why they are moving forward to their next goal.
while a space marine novel might use a battle or a crime book might give you a revelation of a clue the character found to tell you what the future might hold, this book uses more dialogue and character building to give you that information.
All in all, it's a good book, I think they wrote the sisters of battle very well, the voice actors nailed the characters, and I love the ending. If you are used to space marine books it can feel a little slow, but hang in there because the ending is great.

action, romance, mystery, this story has it all!
Revisado: 02-23-23
Long story short, if you are looking for true crime based in the 40k universe, pick up this book. Even if you aren't very familiar with 40k, you can still enjoy this book.
All in all, it's just a great detective story, it does a great job of letting you follow along with the mystery and figure it out as the character is figuring it out. there's no hidden information that the character knows and then pulls out of thin air leaving you saying, well what the heck we didn't even know that information. I couldn't put it together myself if I wanted to!
the performance is great as well. The voice actor sounds just like a gritty detective, who has seen it all and works in the dark and gritty underbelly of the city.
five stars, would definitely recommend. It's a good change of pace

Historia
Before the being called the Emperor revealed himself, before the rise of the aeldari, before the necrontyr traded their flesh for immortal metal, the world was born in violence. Even when they inhabited bodies of flesh, Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner were polar opposites. Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. Orikan, a chronomancer without peer, draws zodiacs that predict and manipulate the future.

Enjoyed it, well worth my monthly credit
Revisado: 02-13-23
I spend my monthly credit sparingly, always wanting the most bang for my buck. this audiobook was well worth it. A nice long story, giving you a view into how the necron and their dynasties exist with each other and within the 40k universe. Good voice performance too. I love when characters have unique voices.

a good read, would recommend!

a shorter story, but would definitely recommend for any Templar fan! gives you some insights into the chapter, where the chapter is going after the introduction of primaris Marines, and into the high Marshall himself.

a good story, was worth my monthly credit
Revisado: 11-14-22
I cherish my monthly credit and spend it wisely, looking to get the most bang for my buck. I was please with this audiobook and I consider it worth it.
The story was good, I'm not extremely interested in the blood angels, but it's still was a great space. marine book. went in depth and explained some history and lore of the blood angels well.
if I had to find a flaw with it, I would say that I would have preferred different characters to have different voices, to make it easier to distinguish them. it felt more like a retelling and I had a harder time getting drawn into the story, but that is only a very very small picky thing. I'm recalling.
a great listen, definitely worth it!
