Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Historia
Foulsham has been destroyed. Darkness lies heavily over the city; the sun has not come up for days. Inside the houses throughout the capital, ordinary objects have begun to move. There are rumours of a terrible contagion. From the richest mansion to the poorest slum, people have disappeared. The police have been instructed to carry arms. Someone has stolen a certain plug. Someone is lighting a certain box of matches. All will come tumbling down. The Iremongers have come to London.

This was unique story. With good writing with an array of vocabulary, I did not have trouble listening to it. In fact, I made excuses to get away from every day life to hear more. I love the book Little by Edward Carey as well. I do not hesitate to listen to books from Edward Carey. Great Job.

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

This was a very a predictable story for me.
Revisado: 12-22-20
I could see where this storey was going and who was guilty long before evidence unraveled. I did give it one more star tho for trying well. I am a self harmer and I also have a step mother who has issues. (Not to that extream). so maybe that could have been the reason I could see who was guilty. before the twist at the end I was like what... then the twist happens and I was like there you go. that covers it all. Exactly what I thought. It kept me entertained. I liked the pace. it did not put any bad spellings on my addiction because I felt she didn't talk about it the right way. The reason I had been put to that point. Hers was all about control and having no voice. Mine well that's my store to tell or maybe not.good story about how crazy people can be and yes these type of people exist in the world you walk around in.

Historia
Margot Cary has spent her life immersed in everything Lake Sackett is not. As an elite event planner, Margot's rubbed elbows with the cream of Chicago society and made elegance and glamour her business. She's riding high until one event goes tragically, spectacularly wrong. Now she's blackballed by the gala set and in dire need of a fresh start - and apparently the McCreadys are in need of an event planner with a tarnished reputation.

lack of substance. forced myself to finish.
Revisado: 06-27-20
throughout the book the main character had a depressing irritability. this made it difficult to want to even listen to. the narrators needs practice. the plot was easy to see what was going to happen in the early stages of the book. the story, and main characters lacked depth. as a book it was way to long to listen to for such a simple plot line. I could see it doing well as nice chick flick movie if the main character was always in a shitty or whinny mood about something.

Awful
Revisado: 12-27-19
This book lacks depth. I found it to be like a Barbie movie. The writer over dramatised everything from plot to word choice. I found it exausting to listen to. The narrators voice was unpleasant and for other characters used a nasally high pitched voice that irritating. I struggled to finish it.
